Under the instruction of the city, Binh Nham ward’s Party, government and people well realized policies for war invalids, martyrs ‘families and revolutionary contributors. Vo Huynh Ngoc Thuy, Chairwoman of the ward’s People’s Committee said that the whole ward is now home to 250 policy beneficiaries. Nguyen Thi Hong Van, Head of the city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the movement of paying debt of gratitude was implemented by many practical activities over the past time, absorbing the participation of the whole society. On the War Invalids-Martyrs ‘Day and Tet festival 2019, the whole city spent more than VND1.7billion on supporting the local policy beneficiary families. The city also mobilized organizations, individuals and extracted the local Gratitude Fund to build, upgrade 7 gratitude houses with a total value of VND480million. In 2019, there were 26 policy beneficiaries in the city maintained by donors, agencies and businesses with the monthly subsidy of VND200,000-VND1million per person. The city also provided free medical check-up, medicine for wounded, sick soldiers and policy beneficiaries; focused on traditional education among youngsters, contributing to promoting the local task of paying debt of gratitude.
In addition, the city has actively realized the Party and State’s policies on paying debt of gratitude so that this task will continue upholding its efficiency. Sectors, mass organizations and localities in the city have also organized many other practical activities for policy beneficiary families, helping them stabilize and improve their lives.
