Over the past years, Thuan An city’s Farmers ‘Association paid attention to realizing patriotic emulation movements, received enthusiastic response from officials and members. Many role-models appeared through these patriotic emulation movements, contributing to building up a civilized, prosperous and beautiful Thuan An city.
Thuan An city’s Farmers ‘Association focused on implementing patriotic emulation movements in association with many other emulation movements in the locality over the past time. Under the movement of “Good farmer in production and business”, the association teamed up with functional agencies to open 126 classes on sci-tech transfer for more than 3,600 members while organizing 53 seminars, 18 trips to effective models with the participation of 1,870 members. The association and its branches also supported loans for farmers to effectively develop their models, contributing to generating jobs for laborers and creating products for the society…
During the past five years, there were 5,716 out of 6,795 farming households winning the title of “Good farmers in production and business” or 84.12% of total. Some outstanding farmers in the city included Nguyen Van Tuan in An Thanh ward with the model of growing safe vegetables; Tran Minh Vu in Vinh Phu ward with the model of combining between pigeon farm and home eatery; Nguyen Son in Binh Chuan ward with the model of breeding crocodiles, pythons in association with making products from them for domestic and foreign markets…
The association also coordinated with sectors, mass organizations to launch emulation movements on civilized urban, new-style rural construction in association with the campaign of “All people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters”. Through meetings, the association mobilized members and officials to carry out 23 works on upgrading streets, making urban rejuvenation with a total expense of more than VND25.4billion. Of the total figure, more than VND1.75billion came from the local farmers together 750 working days.
In addition, the association and its branches actively got involved in cleaning up self-managing streets with a total length of 12 km, eradicating illegal ads and delivering propaganda leaflets and mobilizing locals to join hands in building civilized urban wards, quarters without waste. Last year, there were also 1,513 out of 1,513 members winning the title of “cultural family”. It is known that the association also coordinated with functional agencies to well ensure the local order and security over the past time.
Nguyen Thuy Minh Chi, Chairwoman of Thuan An city’s Farmers ‘Association said that the association has regularly inspected and overseen the operations of its branches for timely support, aiming to maintain, improve the quality of emulation movements and reach the set targets.
