Early March 4, Thuan An town’s Women’s Union held a get-together to commemorate the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 1,975th anniversary of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising.
At the get-together, delegates reviewed the tradition of International Women’s Day (March 8), the heroic spirit of the two Trung sisters and highlighted achievements done by the local women during the past time.
The town’s Women’s Union last year admitted additional 1,700 members and set up models, clubs on propaganda of the movement “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families”…The local Women’s Union also well realized an emulation movement on thrift practice following Uncle Ho’s teachings, helping each other develop homebased business and make sustainable poverty reduction; continued maintaining and upholding the effectiveness of the campaign “Saving day for Poor Women” with more than VND428mln, supporting 219 women to get nearly VND417mln in loan.
Such these apart, the town’s Women’s Union assisted 562 female headed poor and near-poor households to get loans for homebased business development to rise up out of poverty.
