Thuan An town’s Division of Education and Training yesterday reviewed the 2015-2016 academic year and set orientations, tasks for the 2016-2017 academic year.
In the 2015-2016 academic year, the town had a total of 112 education facilities with 75,026 pupils, up 11 and 8,737 compared to the previous academic year, respectively. For preschool education, there were 100% of preschools with preschool education program realized, 100% of five-year-old children supported for mental and physical development to get ready for primary education. The town also had a total of 21 semi-boarding primary schools with 19,425 pupils and 100% of fifth graders with primary school graduation, up 0.02% against to the previous academic year. For secondary education, there were 95.3% of pupils with secondary school graduation, down 0.6% over the previous academic year and 69.36% of pupils admitted to high schools for the 2016-2017 academic year. The whole town also 94.81% of pupils with high school graduation, down 2.2% compared to the previous academic year. So far, the town has had a total of 22 national standard schools and is striving to have at least one school meeting national standards in the new academic year.
The town’s sector of education and training has set concrete tasks to continue improving the quality of teaching and learning for all levels in the new academic year.
On this occasion, 21 outstanding units were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee. The town’s People’s Committee also presented the certificates of merit to 8 collectives having excellent achievements in the last academic year.
