Many models of gathering members
Le Thi Minh, vice chairman of Thuan An town Women’s Union said that renovation of operational contents and forms is constantly implemented from the town to grassroot levels and is highly agreed among the union’s cadres. Therefore, during the process of implementation, the union’s cadre staff diversifies many models of gathering members.
In Thuan An town, “Domestic violence control”, “No giving birth to third child”, “Volunteer women”, “Charity” and so on are the names of clubs with the purpose of attracting and gathering members. The town’s women unions at all levels have made efforts and motivated to build funds in a bid to hold training classes and meetings and so on.
In addition, the union’s all level units have many significant deeds such as supporting vocational training, helping members approach capital sources and so on. With supportive capital sources of Bank for Social Policies, People’s Credit Fund and so on, since the start of this year, Thuan An town Women Union helps 422 sisters enjoy loans worth over VND8bil. Through the capital support programs, beneficiaries become members of the union and many of them are nuclear members of local movements. This is an important factor to reinforce and develop the union.
Le Thi Thu, chairwoman of Binh Chuan ward Women Union said that there are many ways to lure and gather members. Over the past years, members at the grassroot level sub-unions in the Binh Chuan ward mobilize the elderly to join in the ward Taichi Club. In the early morning, mothers, grandmothers gather at the ward People’s Committee’s yard to do exercises.
Supporting members to develop homebased economy
Thuan An town Women Union vice chairwoman Le Thi Minh, through meetings of the union, sisters share experiences on taking care of children and developing farming economy. In the other hand, Thuan An town Women Union in cooperation with all level agencies and sectors takes advantages of helping members approach loans.
Since early 2014, Thuan An town Women Union has mobilized nearly VND225mil to assist 309 members to pay school fees for their children.
As one of members enjoying loans from the program of the saving day for poor women, Nguyen Thi Hang, member of the quarter 3 women union, Thuan Giao ward, said “My family’s circumstance is very difficult with a modest income while my 3 children need money to pay school fees. Thanks to support of the ward Women Union, I can afford to pay school fees for my children”.
Minh added that to create unity among sisters, the union’s teams set up many useful models of charity rice jar and so on to help poor members.
Possibly speaking, by contents and forms of gathering members, Thuan An town Women Union at all levels create a big trust to attract many sisters to join in the union.
