Youths clean streets in Thuan An town.
At 7 a.m, hundreds of youths in green shirts were presented at Lai Thieu township, Thuan An town to clean streets along a local small river in response to the Green Sunday Campaign.
Nearly 400 youths and unionists with brooms and other tools in hands pervaded across the small river to collect garbage and eliminate illegal advertisement panels… During 2 hours, they restored clean and green image for local streets. Nguyen Anh Duong, a unionist of Lai Thieu ward, said environment protection helps protect living environment whilst Bui Huu Hong from Nguyen Trai high school, said “I encourage my relatives to use paper bags in replacement for nylon ones and implement the mobilization of building civilized life”.
Aside from the town youth union’s activities, grassroot youth unions and schools maintained environment hygiene on every Sunday or Saturday.
In the past summer, the town youths collected tens of tons of garbage across streets. Hundreds of youths mobilized local residents to keep hygiene. Nguyen Van Ly, a local resident, said “initially, many households put garbage out the river. The local youths’ significant deed helps local residents raise awareness on environment protection”.
