Young people in Thuan An town have made efforts in environmental protection via many practical activities, contributing to building up a clean and healthy living environment and combating climate change.

An town’s Youth Union said that the town’s Youth Union has engaged activities
in environmental protection, upholding the voluntary spirit of the local youths
and absorbed involvement of many people. Since early this year, the town’s
Youth Union has organized a program to sign commitments to realize the “Green
Sunday”, “Voluntary Saturday” campaigns among 36 Youth Union branches.

Accordingly, the local youths have actively got involved in many significant activities for a green, clean and beautiful environment, including tidying up streets, monuments; eradicating and removing illegal advertising boards…All have not only contributed to building a clean and healthy living environment, but also contributed to raising public awareness of protecting environment and combating climate change.
Under the campaign of “Youth Union members take part in new rural construction”, 1,000 local Youth Union members were very active to make environmental hygiene in An Son commune, despite hot weather. This has contributed to reshaping the rural image of An Son commune.
To Nguyen Hong Tham, a Youth Union member in Lai Thieu ward’s quarter 2, environmental protection activities have contributed to protecting human being’s health and creating a clean and healthy living environment. Meanwhile, Nguyen Hong Tham, who is also a Youth Union member in Lai Thieu ward’s quarter 2 said that after attending the above program, she has known more obviously about the practical meaning of environment to human being’ health and life, etc.
The town’s Youth Union has also sped up dissemination of information about environmental protection. Particularly, a contest on environmental protection was held with most test parts regarding environment, upholding the voluntary role of the local youths in joining hands to protect environment.
Mr.Tan added: “In the coming time, the town’s Youth Union will further speed up propaganda work, raising public awareness of environmental protection for a green, clean and beautiful environment. This is seen as a regular action for social welfare”.
