To actively prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic in industrial zones

Leaders of industrial parks (IPs) in the province are cooperating well with enterprises, workers for the COVID-19 prevention and control. 100% workers actively made health declarations, installed Bluezone, joined social networking groups of grassroots trade unions to update disease information. Meanwhile, enterprises actively equipped themselves with medical equipment and strictly implemented disease prevention control measures.

During working hours, workers at Tan Nhat Wood Company (South Tan Uyen Industrial Park, Tan Uyen Town) strictly implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19.

To proactively prevent and fight against the pandemic

Enterprises in IPs are putting more effort for the COVID-19 prevention and control. At South Tan Uyen IP (Tan Uyen Town), 100% workers seriously wear face masks, measure body temperature, and disinfect hands as coming to the company. For example, at Tan Nhat Wood Company, workers of production lines maintain fixed distances and wear  face masks. Disinfectant solution are arranged within 15m of production lines.

Since the outbreak at the end of April, the company has divided workers' mealtimes into several shifts, avoiding close contacts. During working hours, workers are not allowed to remove face mask, talk or gather. The epidemic situation is continuously updated by the company's management board, and informed workers through speakers. Disease prevention control measures are widely propagated according to guidelines of the authorities.

Fuoc Boi Quyen, Director of Tan Nhat Wood Company, said: “Most enterprises in the industrial park have done this well, not only our company. If there is one company neglecting the disease prevention control, it could unfortunately lead to an outbreak, and affect operations of all enterprises in the province. We are aware of this, hence we consider the disease prevention control as the survival of enterprises, not merely to protect the health of workers.”

Meanwhile, Pham Khac Tung, Sales Manager of Dien Quang Company, Dong An Industrial Park (Thuan An City), said that the Covid-19 prevention conrol has been strictly implemented by the company since beginning of 2020. The company established Zalo groups to exchange disease information; small contests with rewards to find out information about the epidemic to attract workers. “As for sales department, who often go out to meet customers and are easily infected, Directors Board of the company demand officials of this department to wear face masks, as well as provide sanitizers for employees. Officials of this department must always keep a fixed distance between each other, cannot be in direct contact with other employees in the company and have a daily schedule of medical declarations via Zalo group."

At enterprises in Ben Cat town, disease prevention control work is also regularly disseminated by trade unions at all levels. From before April 30 and May 1 holidays, all companies in the town did not organize trips for workers, and encouraged workers not to go out of the area. Anyone visited their hometown must make a clear medical declaration as returning to company. Disease prevention control's messages are widely disseminated to all employees.

To intensify propaganda

In order to well prevent and control the pandemic in industrial zones, trade unions of industrial parks have intensified the propagation about COVID-19 prevention control among union members. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of VSIP Trade Union, said VSIPs in Binh Duong have about 160,000 workers. 100% of employees and guests entering the IPs must wear face masks. Monitoring system at all companies is maintained, reminds workers to wear face masks, not to chat during working hours.

“According to inspection results, most enterprises strictly implement disease prevention control measures. Companies fully equipped themselves with medical tools, such as temperature monitors, implement wearing masks during working hours, keeping a fixed distance, disinfecting dining rooms, setting up partitions in dining rooms or dividing meal time into several turns... Trade Unions of companies regularly propagates anti-COVID measures among employees. 100% employees made medical declarations after the holidays of April 30, May 1. Very few workers travel out of the province because they were previously encouraged by Trade Unions,” said Ms. Dang.

Provincial Labor Confederation directed trade unions at all levels to proactively collaborate with employers to disseminate and implement disease prevention control solutions, asked enterprises to equip means to prevent infection; carried out prapagation and encourage workers do not share inaccurate information on social networks. Through social network sites and groups, such as groups of key trade union officials and Binh Duong Trade Union connection group, provincial Labor Confederation promptly shared information, provided materials and instructed relevant contents of disease prevention control work, was seriously implemented by trade union officials.

In addition, Provincial Labor Confederation directed trade unions at all levels to call on business owners to strictly implement medical quarantine; encouraged employees to take the initiative in anti-COVID but not panic and worry so as not to affect production, jobs and daily life. Trade unions actively propagated to business owners when arranging production activities must ensure a safe distance, disinfect according to recommendations of Ministry of Health.

Following the direction of provincial Labor Confederation, many trade unions called on business owners to develop plans and scenarios to deal with the pandemic at different levels at appropriate enterprises. Enterprises have well implemented regulations and guidelines of the authorities, proactive in disease prevention control solutions at each enterprise. Many large companies have effectively used the SMS switchboard system within the company to propagate and publicize disease prevention control activities at enterprises, publicize health status of experts, thereby helping employees know the situation clearly and work with peace of mind.
