To add up attraction to ancient houses

In the province, 5 ancient houses that have been recognized as national and provincial historical and cultural relics. The outstanding values in terms of history, architectural art, culture, and way of life of the people of Binh Duong are preserved in the spaces of the relics, always bringing many interesting things to everyone when visiting and exploring.

Traditional values are one of the trends in tourism that many people are interested in

Exciting experience

Discovering traditional values, ancient architectural works, and ancient cultural features are the choices that many people opt for, experiencing during the Lunar New Year festival, spring travel this year. Families, groups of friends... dressed in ancient-style ao dai costumes are the images that we easily encounter when visiting ancient structures in the Thu market area of Phu Cuong ward in Thu Dau Mot city this spring. Thanks to that, places like Thu market, Traditional House of Thu Dau Mot, nearby ancient houses such as Tran Cong Vang ancient house (located at 21 Ngo Tung Chau street) or Tran Van Ho ancient house (located at 15 Bach Dang street)... have been promoted and introduced. These ancient houses not only attract visitors with their ancient appearance, bringing a gentle feeling amidst the rush of life, but also contain many things to explore and understand the inside structures.

The daughter of Mr. Tran Cong Vang, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet is also the one who is currently inheriting and preserving the historical site of Tran Cong Vang's ancient house. Tuyet said she is the 5th generation inheritor, preserving this 135-year-old house. According to the homeowner's sharing, the special thing about this ancient house is that over 90% of the items are made of precious wood. Looking from the outside, the house seems ordinary, but stepping inside reveals a space of great beauty, full of artistic charm. From the system of columns, beams, bamboo curtains of the house, to the interior furnishings, intricate decorative patterns, painted ceilings, meticulous carvings not only reflecting the affluent life, aesthetic sense of the previous owners, the clever creativity of the ancient carpenters but also the reverence and preservation through generations.

Over more than 130 years, but until now the ancient house of Tran Cong Vang still retains the original architecture. That is also what attracts visitors to come and explore. Many people who have the opportunity to come here all believe that this is a unique relic, bringing them wonderful experiences with a lot of useful information and knowledge. Before the attraction of this ancient house, Mr. Phan Thanh Tri also "dives" from Tan Lap commune, Bac Tan Uyen district to experience it here. After being led by Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet to visit around, introducing in detail the architecture, the values inside the house, Mr. Tri shared that he himself really liked it because he did not expect that in the bustling city there are ancient houses with beautiful spaces like this. “Just like many other young people, I also enjoy traveling to tourist areas, going to the beach, going on adventures... However, this place has given me a new experience, helping me understand a part of the past life through the artifacts, the preserved photos inside this ancient house.”

The promotion needs

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the tourism development project of Binh Duong, these ancient houses are one of the relics that are being promoted to enhance their value. Recently, the industry has been focusing on introducing and promoting these ancient houses, and there have been many tours and travel routes taking visitors to visit and experience these ancient houses in the province. However, the number of tourists visiting ancient houses compared to the total area in the province is still not high. One of the reasons leading to this is that the services at these ancient house sites are not available, not exploited to meet the needs of tourists. This is also an issue that needs to be changed, paid more attention to in the coming time.

According to statistics, every year, each ancient house welcomes about 1,000 visitors to visit. This shows that the material and spiritual values inside the ancient houses still attract attention, partly meeting the needs of exploration and tourism of many people. However, this number has not yet reached the figure that the tourism industry in Binh Duong expects. Therefore, to promote the value of ancient house relics in tourism, the provincial tourism industry is also considering providing additional amenities, enhancing the experience for visitors when visiting ancient house relics to make ancient house tourism activities and other tourism sectors in Binh Duong more prominent and more effective in the future.

During the past time, one of the destinations that travel service business units choose to introduce to visitors when coming to Binh Duong is the ancient houses that are over a hundred years old. The exploitation of ancient house relics for tourism has somewhat enhanced the value of these relics, adding richness to tourists' visits in Binh Duong. If additional services are provided for tourists, it is certain that the number of visitors exploring and experiencing ancient house relics will significantly increase in the near future.
