In order to soon control the Covid-19, Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision on tightening social distancing, requiring people to "stay where they are” in 11 wards of Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town. Currently, localities are urgently receiving, packing all kinds of necessities and delivering them to people.

To actively support people
In addition to 11 wards applying absolute restrictions ordered by Provincial People's Committee, on August 23, People's Committee of Di An City consulted provincial leaders and actively applied the same measure to 4 wards , including: Di An, An Binh, Tan Dong Hiep and Dong Hoa wards. Currently, the province has a total of 15 wards implementing the absolute distance order.
In order to assure that the restriction order is effectively implemented, helping localities to quickly control the disease, in the past two days, municipal government have deployed their forces into many groups. In particular, staff of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels were assigned to mobilize, receive, pack and distribute relief goods to the people. This is an urgent job concerned by localities while waiting for necessities transferred from the province and city under the State policy.
Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, Chairwoman of Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan An City, said that after the province decided to apply the absolute restriction order to four wards Thuan Giao, Binh Hoa, An Phu, and Binh Chuan, the city Fatherland Front directed, coordinated with mass organizations and Fatherland Fronts of wards to continue calling for benefactors to donate labor and materials to people in lockdown areas.
Nguyen Huu Chau, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the City Party Inspection Board, Head of Covid-19 Steering Committee of Thuan Giao ward (Thuan An city), said while waiting for necessities allocated by the State budget, from August 22 to August 23, the city's frontline forces received, packed and distribute tens of tons of goods from the city's Fatherland Front and benefactors to residents. These forces were mainly from Fatherland Front and mass organizations, many were youth union members, women's union members, veteran members... Chau said that because absolute restriction was implemented at entrances and exits and operations of production and business establishments were completely suspended, the city attempted to provide the most timely and fully necessities to people.
Similarly, in other localities such as Di An ward (Di An city), Tan Phuoc Khanh ward (Tan Uyen town), activities of receiving, packing and distributing goods also took place quite urgently. With the enthusiasm of youth union members, tons of food were quickly packed into parts, ready to be loaded onto vehicles to be delivered to people living in residential areas and lodging houses.
Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, said that the city actively applied restrictions in four wards. Hence, except for a rice source supported by the province, other food and necessities for needy people in the area are mainly from the city's donations. Due to the suspension of production and business activities in the above-mentioned wards, the city has coordinated with capable businesses to supply and deliver essential goods by mobile vending vehicles. Community Covid teams are in charge of connecting order information so that people and suppliers can transact quickly, conveniently and safely to prevent and control the disease.
To urgently supply goods to the people
Following the direction of Provincial Party Standing Committee on timely supply of food and essential goods to people in lockdown areas, Provincial People's Committee directed functional departments and branches to coordinate with People's Committees of towns and cities applying the lockdown to find suppliers of goods to support the people. In particular, the province emphasized that spending on this support for people living in lockdown areas is urgent. Functional branches and localities must smoothly and quickly distribute goods to people.
Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of People's Committee of Thuan An City, said that the city finished calculating the amount of necessities needed for people in lockdown areas in four wards of Thuan Giao, Binh Hoa, An Phu, and Binh Chuan. Accordingly, on August 23, trucks transported rice, food and necessities began to People's Committees of wards, then localities packed and distributed to people. The city will allocate 810 tons of rice to An Phu ward, 840 tons to Binh Chuan ward, 905 tons to Thuan Giao ward, and 945 tons to Binh Hoa ward, rice was supported by the province. In addition to the above rice amount, the city also gave about 360,000 gifts to residents and workers living in residential areas and lodging houses in lockdown areas.
By noon of August 23, the delivery of goods to people in Tan Uyen town was also urgently carried out. Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town, said that the town tallied up the number of people in lockdown areas, and connected with Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and other functional agencies to bring goods to the localities. It is expected that during August 23 and morning August 24, the town would receive goods from suppliers and urgently pack and distribute them to people.
In order to ensure that the packaging, transport and distribution of goods take place quickly and timely, and reach doorsteps of people, Thuan An City and Tan Uyen Town also sent staff to these areas to supervise directly. In addition, localities also asked Information Centers for Covid-19 Prevention and Control at all levels, quick response forces, and Community Covid teams in quarters and residential groups to increase their activities, promptly receive, listen and support people.
