Early September 30, at Thu Dau Mot University, the Steering Board of Tobacco Effect Prevention coordinated with Department of Health to initiate the building up of non-smoking environment and schools in 2015. The ceremony gathered the university trusties, representatives of departments, agencies, unions, and majority of school students in the province.

Implementing legal regulations on tobacco effect prevention, the steering board has recently organized various activities in the province to put the prevention into deeper implementation and wider transformation. The steering board has succeeded in building up such non-smoking models in hospitals and schools and been aiming to expand to organizations. The steering board target, by 2020, to reduce to 18% and lower of smoking adolescences aged 15-24, males 39% and less than 1.4% for females. After the participating students and Youth’s League members joined up procession across streets of Thu Dau Mot City. The ceremony is to improve awareness and responsibilities of the whole society in preventing tobacco effects locally.
