Being confined in low qualifications and housework, female in working age in rural are limited to their family unknowing that they are accounted for a relatively high labor force. To make use of such resources, in years, vocational training activities for rural female have been taken good care of, especially by Provincial Association of Women to offer job opportunities in a bid to eliminate poverty and elevate female position. Transitional vocational trainingCurrently, over 1.7 people are residing in Binh Duong Province, of whom 700,000 are immigrant workers. The urban residents are nearly 600,000 while rural residents are about 1,100,000 people. Female are nearly 900,000 people.

Rural females are being taught garment making In years, the Party and State have offered various decisions and policies to prioritize vocational training and job creation for rural working people, especially female.Implementing Project 295 of government’s Prime Minister on “vocational training for rural working people”, Binh Duong Provincial authority has generated various vocational training and job introduction to female rural workers.In 2013, Provincial Center for Job Introduction to Females has opened 8 courses on party cooking and domestic garment for 232 trainees from communes of Tan My, Minh Thanh, Tan Thanh, Dat Cuoc, Thanh Hoi, Tan Vinh Hiep , Minh Thanh, Thanh An, Thanh Tuyen, and Dau Tieng.Besides, the center has opened 38 courses for 456 new trainees (97 males, 359 females) in field of nail art, hair dressing, make-up, cake decoration, cake making, oriental flower arrangement, party cooking, family cooking, vegetable art, ect.Because trainees mainly are not in favorable conditions to travel far enough for training centers, the local center coordinated with local associations of women across districts, towns, and Thu Dau Mot City to open free localized training courses.Thus, female trainees have been attracted to the courses.Under Project 295, trainees are offered free of charge training regime including materials for practicing.To settle downAfter the courses, about 70-80% of the trainees have applied their knowledge to practical production with stable income from VND 2 to 2.5 million per capita per month.Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha from Minh Thanh Commune of Dau Tieng District said: “Previously, my family was in challenging situations due to far-from-home work. After being trained with party cooking skills, I have earned stable job and relatively high income.”Mrs. To Nguyen Anh Thi, Director of Provincial Center for Job Introduction to Females informed that after the courses, trainees would be awarded certificates to be foundation for their job seeking.Besides, the center has also encouraging local authority to build up collaborative groups to offer localized jobs.Accordingly, many trainees have acquired stable jobs to escape poverty, namely collaborative groups of party service in Minh Thanh Commune of Dau Tieng District and in Tan Phuoc Khanh Townlet of Tan Uyen District.Each of the mentioned groups has 30 trained members who contributed to establish party or meal services. Thanks to such models, many other groups in other localities have been established to help women to escape the cover of husband-depending housewives.Besides, two models of decorative fish rearing and orchid planting have been emerged in An Son Commune of Thuan An Town.So as to promote the achievements made, the center committed to consultancy and job introduction by maintaining training courses under Projects No. 1956 and 295 to improve vocational education in rural areas.Reported by Thien Ly – Translated by Vi Bao
