To focus on traffic safety information dissemination to the public

According to a report at the conference to review traffic order and safety in the first six months of the year, Binh Duong was one of 12 localities of increased casualties from traffic accidents at over 10% over the same period last year. In order to reduce accidents, the traffic police force of Binh Duong provincial Police has coordinated to promote traffic safety information dissemination to people, especially young ones.

Carrot and sticks

One of the localities focusing on dissemination of information about traffic safety for workers is the police station of Tan Uyen town. Major Phan Minh Thao, Captain of the Traffic Police Team of the Tan Uyen town Police, said that they regularly reminded and disseminate information about traffic safety to the people during their duties. At the same time, in order to actively reduce violations, the traffic police force has sent thousands of open letters to restaurants, transport businesses, and to the people, so that the traffic situation on Tan Uyen town would be relatively stable. In August, 5 traffic accidents in town killed 3 people, injured 2, and damaged 8 vehicles. Traffic police force organized 84 patrol and control shifts with 560 turns of officers and soldiers participating to detect and document fines of 755 cases of traffic safety violations. Among them, there are still violations of alcohol concentration in driving or driving vehicles in the wrong part of the road and lane.

Meanwhile, Major Trieu Hoai Bao, captain of the Traffic Police Team of Bau Bang district Police, said that over the past time, they have continuously implemented patrolling plans. In August, the traffic police team of the district police organized 19 patrol and control shifts with 114 turns of officers and soldiers participating; thereby, detecting and making records of violations in 69 cases. In addition, the traffic police force of the district police also went to businesses to disseminate the Road Traffic Law to thousands of workers. Also in August, in Bau Bang district, 3 traffic accidents killed 3 people, injured 1, and damaged 5 vehicles.

Joint hands to reduce violations

To contribute to reducing traffic accidents, over time, agencies and departments have increased information dissemination in many forms. Mr. Pham Tuong Liem, Deputy Chairman of the provincial Veterans’ Association, said that in addition to propagating to members the basic contents of the Law on Road Traffic, Railways and Inland Waterways as well as related regulations, the associations at all levels have caused members and their families to register to avoid violating traffic laws. Since the beginning of the year, the Veterans’ Associations at all levels have integrated and organized 6,246 propaganda sessions among members and people with 25,382 turns of participants. The Association also continues to maintain the implementation of models such as the self-governing roads, law dissemination and education clubs, motorcycle ambulance teams, and traffic safety management teams.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, said that with the criterion of ensuring safety for workers, the provincial Trade Union has directed Trade Unions at all levels to focus on information dissemination, officials, trade union members and workers on voluntary abiding by the law on traffic safety and measures to prevent traffic accidents; at the same time, it has widely disseminated the Law on Road Traffic in non-state enterprises, industrial parks and clusters, and in hostels to more than 30,000 people as well as the drive of "Safe driving skills" among workers.

According to a representative of the provincial Department of Education and Training, in order to ensure the safety of students when participating in traffic in the new school year, the department has directed the education divisions of districts and towns to call on parents and students not to speed or recklessly overtake on roads, or not to carry more than the specified number of people, or to wear standard helmets when riding motorbikes and electric bikes. In addition, the department has urged schools to coordinate with students' parents to ensure well implementation of their commitment not to hand over motorbikes to students to drive when they do not have any driver's licenses or have not yet received any driving licenses by eligible ages as prescribed by the laws. the Traffic Police Department is coordinated with to regularly disseminate the Law on Road Traffic in schools.
