Godmother, a meaningful program of the Women's Union at all levels in the province
Throughout history, Vietnamese women have always affirmed their important position in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country. October 20 was chosen as Vietnamese Women's Day, showing the CPV and the entire society's respect for the role and contributions of Vietnamese women. The day is also an important milestone to confirm women's equal rights to vote and participation in political and social activities. Vietnamese women, whether in wartime or peacetime, are always patriots with intelligence, health, creative energy and charm, very proud.
Promoting tradition, cadres and women members in the province have, in recent years, tried their best to carry out patriotic emulation and campaigns launched by the Women's Union at all levels, branches and localities while promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in the 2021-2023 period, associations at all levels have many effective operating models, promoting the role of women in building families of happiness, participation in socio-economic development, care and protection of women and children.
In 2023, implementing the models of "VND 0 Supermarket", "Rice Jar of Love", "Support to go to school", "Savings for poor women" among others, the Women's Union at all levels has helped 4,916 women and children in difficult circumstances. For the model of raising savings piggy banks to reduce poverty and maintain health insurance policies for disadvantaged women members, associations at all levels have given 1,295 health insurance cards to poor and sick women. Associations at all levels have also saved more than VND 8.9 billion to help 6,249 women overcome difficulties.
In addition, the Women's Union at all levels in the province also organizes the programs giving support to ethnic minorities, disadvantaged women and children, female workers have accounted for an amount of nearly VND 3 billion.
In particular, the Provincial Women's Union also focuses on cultural exchange activities, "Binh Duong women with Japanese culture" in the contest of "Beautiful photos of ao dai and Kimono", painting on conical hats and paper fans to honor the traditional beauty of Vietnamese and Japanese women.
Exciting commemorative activities
In Binh Duong, right from the beginning of October, the Women's Union at all levels organized many meaningful activities to celebrate the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Women's Union organizations, depending on the conditions of the themes chosen by establishments to make traditional meeting days with a program of giving flowers and gifts to association officials from all time, supporting the livelihoods of disadvantaged women have the conditions to rise up in life, propagate and disseminate laws towards gender equality, and support women to start businesses.
Events held on this occasion include the "Godmother" program of phase 2 of the provincial Women's Union in coordination with the provincial Women's Business Association, and giving gifts to lonely elderly people at the Sponsorship and social work center in An Son commune of Thuan An city and sharing difficulties as well as supporting the care of orphans. The Women's Unions in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city, and Di An City organized the program of "October Meeting" with many new activities, setting an example for good union officials and replicating good models. On this occasion, the Phu Giao Women's Union also summarized and selected to award prizes to 41 projects participating in the "Phu Giao Digital Startup" contest in 2023.
According to Huynh Thi Thuy Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Women's Union, the Standing Committee of the provincial Women's Union has directed affiliated associations to organize a meeting to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 13th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day in a practical, effective and economical way. Traditional meeting programs are an opportunity to review the glorious traditions and good moral qualities of women and also an opportunity for officials, members, women and people from all walks of life to become more deeply aware of the role, position, solidarity and fight for gender equality of Vietnamese women in the current stage. The activities of the association on this occasion affirm the growth and development, recognizing the important contribution of the Women's Union organization in the cause of building and protecting the fatherland and promoting the principle of gratitude to previous generations of association officers and female resistance fighters who have made many contributions to the cause of national liberation.
