State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Document No. 2903/TTGSNH1 asking credit institutions and foreign bank branches to enhance safety at transaction offices. Credit institutions and branches of foreign banks need to regularly check and supervise activities of branches / transaction offices / ATMs, especially in rural and remote areas.
At the same time, SBV required the units to review, supplement and perfect protection plans, prevention of robberies, arrange the guard, check the operation status of security system at offices, vaults, ATMs to ensure safety of activities such as fund receiving, forwarding, money transfer; heighten staff’s awareness of strictly abiding by regulations on safety guarantee, crime prevention.
SBV also required the units to collaborate closely with competent authorities in the area in order to improve order and stability, promptly take measures to prevent crimes and have timely solutions to cope with extreme actions, assure property safety, staff lives and stabilize local order.
