Provincial Police has held a preliminary summary of the prevention and fight against drug crimes over the first 9 months of 2020. According to reports, during the first 9 months of 2020, police force investigating drug-related crimes in the whole province discovered, suppressed 563 cases, arrested 904 people buying, selling, transporting, storing drugs, and 185 illegal drug users. Confiscated materials comprised 103g of heroin, 1,017g of synthetic drugs and many other exhibit; recorded and sent 525 addicts to compulsory drug detoxification establishments.
In addition, provincial drug prevention police force also strengthened the management of legal activities on drug precursors, well implemented prevention work. The authorities organized 45 legal propagation sessions for more than 11,000 participants, distributed more than 97,000 leaflets to propagate drugs prevention fighting among the people.
Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Tran Van Chinh, Deputy Director of Provincial Police, appreciated the accomplishment of provincial drug prevention police force over the past 9 months. He also demanded the entire force continue to maintain their spirit to attack and suppress drug crimes, and step up law propagation and education at lodging houses for workers, students in last months of the year.
