To join hands to combat coronavirus

With the aim at repelling Covid-19, in all localities, Fatherland Front and mass organizations, unions quickly gave a helping hand, put forward initiatives for this fight.

Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province joined hands with Youth Union to give free masks to people.

 Communication on situation of foreigner stay

In order to well control the Covid-19, Hoa Phu ward (Thu Dau Mot City) held a meeting to inform about the situation of foreigners stay in this area. The meeting has the participation of businesses based in the area, health authorities, local administrators, police and Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Phu ward.

The ward's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control acknowledged difficulties and problems of agencies, mass organizations and the ward; proposed solutions to keep preventing and fighting epidemic. Most opinions expressed the strong and determined directive of Hoa Phu ward Steering Committee. However, in order to further enhance the epidemic prevention and fighting, the Steering Committee needed to pay more attention to family's role in epidemic prevention activities; encourage enterprises to create conditions for foreign workers and foreign partners to come back from epidemic areas to strictly carry out self-medical quarantine in the community; promoting the role of local Fatherland Front in supervising foreigners coming from epidemic areas.

Nguyen Van An, Chairman of Hoa Phu Ward People's Committee, said: “In addition to communication about preventing and combating epidemic to each citizen, the ward also focuses on update the situation of foreigners stay in the area. Currently, the ward established 5 groups to monitor health condition of foreigners living and working in business establishments, motels, hotels, inns, resettlement areas, and companies outside industrial parks".

According to the report of Hoa Phu ward Steering Committee, local authorities mobilized the participation of departments, agencies and mass organizations for the communication, training on disease prevention, set up inspection teams to conduct inspections and direct quarters to step up verification and update foreigners stay. In addition, the Steering Committee also performed well the control, quarantine management, monitored subjects who had contact with suspected Covid-19 cases, advised and communicated measures to individuals and families and local communities, to avoid confusing people. Therefore, up to now the ward has not recorded positive cases for Covid-19.

To promote the role of Fatherland Front, mass organizations and unions

Following the direction of Provincial Party Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the province actively cooperated with Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, Fatherland Front of districts, towns and cities to directly meet and work with local parishes to propagate and mobilize priests, religious meeting points to well implement anti-epidemic solutions recommended by Ministry of Health; promoting the role of Fatherland Front, communication to each family and people; providing instructions on disease prevention and instructed people to sign commitments to complying with disease prevention and response measures. In particular, Fatherland Fronts also came to every citizen's house, instructed how to use the official press, social networks of organizations and State agencies on epidemic prevention and control to improve the effectiveness of communication.

Clearly defining its roles and responsibilities, the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations in the province carried out many active activities to intensify dissemination and raise awareness of epidemic prevention in the community. The implementation of communication plan ensured to be fast, effective and reached each household, each citizen, turning information into a synergy for the prevention and response of Covid-19; encouraged the people to uphold citizen's role and responsibility for protecting and improving the health of themselves and the community; actively cooperated with functional agencies in setting up prevention plans.

Tran Thi Kim Lan, Vice Chairwoman of provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said: “Currently, Fatherland Front officials in residential areas are making every effort to communicate disease prevention and control to people. Although Binh Duong has not detected no cases of infection up to now, the prevention is never neglected. Prevention is still better than cure, we often give instructions on what to do when going to public places, so people feel more secure. Fatherland Front in districts, towns and cities also bought hundreds of hand sanitizer bottles, medical masks to present to poor households, thereby show people how to prevent epidemics and protect their family health, community, secure production and labor. Especially, at headquarters of People's Committee at all levels, Fatherland Front cleaned offices, rooms and furniture, instruct people to prevent diseases.
