For ages, local people of Thanh An have been familiar with their hometown’s traditional food – rice paper which is transferred through generations. Individual makers in households have joined in collective establishments, one of which is Danh Le Cooperation at Can Giang hamlet, Thanh An village, Dau Tieng district.
Thanh An rice paper is confirming its
brandname
Mrs. Tran Thi Gai started up her rice paper making as a household business which seemed to be too small for the needs. As the matter of fact, she gathered oothers to open bigger production facility; however, the cooperative products have been neglected for a while. Rice paper is a traditional food, she asserted while confirming her determination to maintain the tradition food. The 1-month-old cooperation is a member to the 8-member Provincial Cooperation Federation. The greatest challenge is capital invested into the mentioned cooperation at nearly VND 200 million for machine and 2,000 bamboo patches for sunbathing. The operation of Danh Le cooperation has created stable jobs to 12 employees who are paid averagely VND 3 million a month. According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh, Head of Cooperative Economics under Rural Development Department, Danh Le Cooperation will be suppoorted with more equipments such as cutting machine and drying patches at the cost of VND 130 million. However, Danh Le Cooperation should initially register its brand name which will help to maintain a tradition food and ultimately create jobs to local people.
