To make best use of supporting funds to care for blind members

In the morning of December 8, the Red Cross of Binh Duong province held its fourth congress of the 2021-2026 tenure. Attending the event was leaders of the provincial Red Cross and 38 delegates representing 490 members of the provincial Red Cross’ Association of the Blind.

In the last term and with the efforts of the Executive Committee of the grassroots Red Cross of the provincial Blind Association in coordinating with superiors and social and charity organizations inside and outside the area to organize activities and humanitarian actions to take care of the members. The association has mobilized more than VND 1.2 billion to help 246 women do good business; mobilized to build 10 new houses and repair 15 houses of great solidarity for the blind with housing difficulties with a total amount of more than VND 1 billion; coordinated to establish 42 projects for 212 members to borrow revolving loans with a total capital of VND 7.9 billion; coordinated with the provincial Red Cross to mobilize 44,853 gifts to give to 100% of members on holidays at more than VND 15.4 billion which is 173% higher than the previous term.

The congress set out 6 specific tasks to strive for in order to build the Association of the Blind to operate more and more effectively; at the same time take advantage of supporting resources to take care of members to contribute to the implementation of local social security policies and the province's charitable movements.

The Congress elected 15 members to the Executive Committee for a new term; Mr. Tran Van Em, Chairman of the Provincial Blind Association was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the grassroots Red Cross of the Blind Association for the 2021-2026 tenure. On this occasion, the provincial Red Cross gave flowers to congratulate the congress and gave 40 gifts to blind members.
