In the morning of March 17, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted an online meeting of the Standing Government and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Control and 63 provinces and cities on the assessment of public results of disease prevention and control over the past time, discussing great solutions for disease prevention and control in the coming time. Attending the meeting at Binh Duong was Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of Binh Duong provincial People's Committee.
According to the Ministry of Health, up to now, the nation has recorded 2,560 cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, the disease situation of Covid-19 in the nation has basically been well controlled. By the end of March 16, more than 16,000 people who were the frontline anti-epidemic forces in the country were vaccinated against Covid-19. All the vaccinated cases are in stable health. Ministry of Health is organizing the purchase and receipt of vaccines from many sources of COVAX Faclility program founded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and GAVI and AstraZeneca. Ministry of Health is in talks with Pfizer to diversify the supply of vaccines. The ministry is also promoting the progress of research and development for the vaccine against Covid-19 in the nation.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Loc Ha said Binh Duong had received 1,700 doses of vaccine allocated by Ministry of Health and issued a plan to deploy Covid-19 vaccination in the province for stage 1 of 2021. From March 18, Binh Duong will organize vaccination for prioritized subjects according to the regulations of Ministry of Health. Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that while the source of vaccine is still limited, the institution has not been able to provide for every person, for the time being, it is necessary to continue to implement disease prevention and control measures according to the recommendation of "5K". In the near future, the ministries, central and local agencies need to be proactive to effectively prevent the epidemic in the community, taking the nation forward in the context of complicated epidemic in the world.
Assessing the situation of Binh Duong when the Covid-19 epidemic occurred, the Prime Minister said that Binh Duong had done well in quenching the epidemic by well implementing the principles of "Prevent - Detect - Quarantine - Zoning and Elimination" according to the motto of 4 onsite (prevention and isolating for on-site treatment; on-site facilities, equipment, medicines, and protection; on-site funding and on-site manpower), attach importance to the role of local governments and promote the lessons of mobilization of the people. Therefore, being a locality with a large number of immigrant workers, Binh Duong has controlled the epidemic well and did not let it spread to any large extent.
