That is the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on the disease prevention and combat in the coming time at the national online conference to announce health work in 2020 and the prevention and combat of Covid- 19 held by Ministry of Health on February 25. The conference had the participation of leaders of ministries, central agencies, press agencies, 63 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government, and districts. To proactive prevent and combat Covid-19
One of the key tasks and solutions in 2020 set out by Ministry of Health is to actively prevent and combat infectious and non-communicable diseases. To carry out this task, according to Ministry of Health, proactive disease prevention and control must be implemented; forecasting, early detecting and promptly controlling epidemics, preventing the happening of major epidemics, reducing the rate of infection and mortality of contagious diseases; closely monitoring and promptly preventing infectious diseases at international border gates.
Reporting on the prevention and combat of Covid-19, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that the disease prevention and combat activities were directed by the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, all levels and branches with very drastic solutions. As a result, we actively detected, quarantined, zoned, treated, and was appreciated by the international community and trusted by the people. At present, Vietnam has 16 cases that were cured. However, the situation of Covid-19 is still complicated and unpredictable in the world. Therefore, we must not be subjective, must consider this as a key task, control the epidemic, know all infected cases. These cases must be quickly treated, including Vietnamese and foreigners.” Mr. Tuyen urged all levels, sectors, provinces and cities directly under the Central Government continue to implement Directive No. 05 and Directive No. 06 of the Government, telegrams and guiding documents of the Prime Minister, National Steering Committee on prevention and combat of Covid-19; well perform the supervision right at border gates, enhance domestic medical supervision; investigate and verify suspected cases and contact persons; well organize quarantine, treatment of patients, prevention of infection, prevent the transmission from patient to patient, from patient to physician. Laboratories must ensure the criteria for testing, especially biosecurity, and test results must be safe and accurate.
According to Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen, our country's result of disease prevention and combat has been good up to now. However, facing the current complex epidemic situation, Mr. Tuyen suggested that all levels, sectors, especially localities are not subjective and synchronously implement measures, that is to detect early, proactively prevent, timely quarantine, zone epidemic areas, prevent cross infection in medical facilities, and focus on treatment for patients, minimize death.
Do not neglect the prevention and fighting
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that Vietnam was a country with a long border with China, the trade demand between the two countries was large, therefore was assessed as a high-risk country of Covid-19. However, it is affirmed that Vietnam well controlled the epidemic situation, 16 cases of Covid-19 positive in Vietnam were cured.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, there are many reasons, but first of all it is because Vietnam has been very proactive, carried out the necessary works very early. Vietnam started implementing the epidemic prevention and combat from mid-December 2019. Deputy Prime Minister said that the solutions to prevent and fight against epidemics proposed by Vietnam were higher than the recommendations of the World Health Organization. During the implementation process, Vietnam identified 5 principles, namely: Thorough prevention; earliest detection; immediate quarantine; neat zoning; thorough extinguish. The 5 above things are unchanged.
Anti-epidemic in the information age should use information technology to provide timely and transparent information not only on the media, but also on social networks. Information must be transparent in order to alert people about the risks, danger levels of epidemic, disease prevention measures... in order to encourage them to join in the fight against epidemics. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, at present, some places have shown neglect in the prevention and combat of epidemic and warned the authorities at all levels to not loosen this work. For people, it is necessary to have solutions to prevent disease for themselves and the community, to wear face masks when going to crowded public places.
To well carry out the prevention and combat of Covid-19 in the coming time, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is necessary to continue strictly controlling people from epidemic areas. In addition to Chinese provinces, there are now two more localities of South Korea. People coming from these areas must be quarantined according to regulations. The quarantine process must be performed flexibly but resolutely. Must ensure the good, safety quarantine, prevent spreading in quarantine areas.
For the sake of people's health, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that all levels and branches should always be proactive, ready, must not be neglect at all times.
