Anticipating that production and business in the coming months would still face difficulties, many enterprises continue making efforts to take care of the lives of employees by welfare regimes. Thereby, the good implementation of welfare regimes by enterprises has created motivation for employees to stick with their jobs for a long time and maintain production.

Increase salary even in tough conditions

At beginning of the new year, good news was informed to more than 1,000 employees at Thien Nam Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (Di An City), as their welfare regimes continued to be maintained, while at the end of 2022, this textile garment enterprise had faced difficulties because of a lack of production orders. The company continues to provide free accommodation for employees, grassroots trade union of the company help poor employees to borrow from 10 to 50 million VND/person, continues to maintain shops selling necessities with lower price every day. Besides, all workshops have spaces to relax, rest, and serve free drinking water for workers. Food rations for employees are well taken care of.

Tran Ngoc Vinh, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, said that like every year, right from the first days of the new year, employees received lucky money and were encouraged by business leaders. Although there were difficulties in production, the company always try to find new orders and maintain jobs so that their employees can have a stable income and ensure stable lives. Other welfare regimes, such as sickness, bereavement, and critical illness, for employees well implemented. “The company always strives to take good care of employees' lives, then the company will not worry about lack of personnel. Therefore, sometimes, even though businesses had to borrow money to maintain production, they take good care of workers' lives. This year, we try to open many markets selling products at original prices, zero-dong markets, and lucky draw programs at the company to encourage employees," said Vinh.

The joy of the beginning of New Year also came to more than 4,500 workers of Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd (VSIP 1, Thuan An City), because they have been taken care of by the company, such as: financial support provided for rent accommodation, women with small children, bonus for attendance. In addition to the prescribed basic salary, the company organizes a skill test every quarter to raise wages. If anyone meets the requirements, they will be given a salary increase of 250,000 VND, regardless of old or new people. Workers, who do not pass the test, may try again in the next quarter.

This approach is also applied by Bowker Vietnam Co., Ltd (Thuan An City) to create motivation in production emulation, helping businesses have a better human resource, employees have higher income. Ha Binh, HR Director of the company, said: “It is forecasted that in 2023, the company would continue to face difficulties in orders. With the desire to stabilize employees' lives, the company is approaching new markets to find orders and maintain welfare regimes so that workers can work and feel stress-free. The company also considers rewarding workers with achievements in labor and production. Right from the first days of the year, the company organized activities to take care of employees such as organizing a lucky draw for valuable gifts, giving gifts and lucky money 450,000 VND/person.

Mekong Furniture Company (Thu Dau Mot City) has held a ceremony to celebrate their 10th anniversary of establishment and development. From a small enterprise with only a few dozen employees, the company has grown constantly, opened more factories with the number of employees up to thousands of people. During recent tough years, the company only recruited more, but no employees quitted their jobs. All thanks to the company's good implementation of welfare regimes for employees, such as illness, occupational accidents… Besides, the average income of the employees is quite high, ensuring their living standards.

In addition to salary, allowances, improving the quality of worker’s meals, every month employees are also provided with rice and necessities by the company. On occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary, the company was grateful to employees and gave gifts to each person. Ha Thi Binh (born in Tra Vinh province), a company worker, shared: “The last year of 2022 was the year that the company faced the most difficulties since I entered the job, but the workers' lives were still well taken care of, our incomes were not cut. For salaried people like us, businesses take good care of us, I feel grateful and will stay with the company for a long time."

In order to create a friendly working environment, for many years now, every month, Yokohama Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd (VSIP 1, Thuan An City) takes a day off to talk to employees and solve problems in labor relations. Existing welfare regimes, such as sightseeing tours, wedding or mourning, big holidays and Tet holidays, are still implemented by the company in accordance with the collective labor agreement. The company's grassroots trade union also coordinated with Directors Board to give gifts to workers' children on International Children's Day and reward children having excellent academic achievements. The attention of Directors Board and the grassroots trade union has encouraged the employees' spirit, since then they have accompanied enterprises to overcome the difficult time.

In order to retain employees, many businesses in the province have well implemented welfare regimes. In addition, businesses also take care of mental health of their workers, such as organizing meetings at enterprises, inviting reputable psychologists to teach workers about life skills, helping them feel more confidence in building a happy family; organize activities of mutual affection, join hands to contribute and help difficult cases in order to strengthen solidarity and cohesion in enterprises...
