To share and be with far-from-home workers

For workers living away from home, 2021 has passed with many difficulties and worries because of the COVID-19 epidemic. Along with the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, local mass organizations have always paid attention to sharing and taking care of workers residing in the hostels.

The spiritual gifts

The most affected by income were freelancers, people selling lottery tickets, motorbike taxis, street vendors with low and unstable income who have to save to manage their expenses. Upholding the sharing tradition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Chanh ward in Tan Uyen town has campaigned and coordinated with ward organizations to give gifts to freelancers in difficult circumstances. The 100 gifts of rice, instant noodles, and vegetables given to families have brought comfort to help the staying workers have more motivation to work and keep their spirits up even though they are still facing difficulties due to the impact of the pandemic.

Association of Women of Uyen Hung ward in Tan Uyen town present gifts to accommodating women of its grassroots

"It's both difficult and miserable to see workers so far away from home urge the association to regularly mobilize whatever they can to give to the needy and help as much as we can." That was the confession of the Association of Women staff in Uyen Hung ward of Tan Uyen town on implementing the program of "millions of gifts to share love" to the people residing in hostels. The work of the association is managed by the association, so it has been grasped by the association since the outbreak of the COVID-19. The association has continuously campaigned to give many gifts to difficult members of the Female Hostel Workers Association. In the last days of 2021, to encourage women in the grassroots, the Association of Women of the ward has given gifts to members of the female unions who have faced difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a worker staying locally, said: “Receiving gifts of necessities and medical masks from the association of my ward is so happy to me. More or less is the heart that I personally feel very appreciative of the local sharing for the workers away from home."

Caring and accompanying

At the Chin Hung Youth Workers' Association in Tan Dinh ward of Ben Cat town, the Organizing Committee of the Solidarity Project to bring together young people and young laborers of the ward had a meeting. Paying attention to and listening to the expressions of the situation, life and wishes of the employees in the branch has created more closeness, attachment and trust in the hearts of workers away from home with the local authorities. Thereon, local officials have propagated the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and important information related to life, which has been agreed and supported by the workers.

In order to provide information related to workers who need to know and understand in the epidemic situation, the core youth force of An Binh ward in Di An city went to the 33 out of 44 hostels in Binh Duong 1 and propagated to members about things when quaratining infection and procedures to support COVID-19 patients. Besides, the youth force answered questions about insurance benefits, identification citizens, social security packages and share and encourage members in difficulties during the epidemic.

In addition to the above issues, at the end of the year, localities also actively propagate to help workers know the methods and tricks of criminals to prevent and be vigilant to protect property and maintain security. At the same time, they have propagandized employees to strictly comply with the guidelines of the Party and the laws of the State. Along with the concern about spiritual life and daily activities, when the epidemic developed, the hostel owners have directly been the workers for the past several months.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, the owner of a hostel in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward of Tan Uyen town, said: “Since the epidemic, workers have not come to work. Knowing that they have many things to worry about, so we helped to together reduce the prices and gifts. When they went to work and get infected by COVID-19 and stayed at the motel without working, I have also reduced the rents. Closer to the Lunar New Year, I have also considered reducing the room rent instead of giving New Year's money and giving basic necessities to the workers who have a few items for three days of Tet stay."

It can be said that the kindness, sharing and helping each other of the hostel owners is a great encouragement for workers far from home to feel secure and worries in life reduced to feel more connected as the COVID-19 epidemic is still complicated.
