Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the emergence of mobile medical stations, equipped with medical equipment, drug facilities, oxygen tanks, medicines, doctors in the province, has reassured people in pandemic zones. These mobile medical stations are also connected to hospitals and first-tier field treatment ceners to assist in the timely treatment, urgent transfer of COVID-19 patients; at the same time, perform initial medical examination and treatment for people during social distancing days.
Ready to aid the people
Tan Uyen town is one of red zones that quickly set up mobile medical stations. Each station has 1 doctor and 2-3 nurses, is equipped with medical oxygen tanks, blood oxygen level meters (Sp02), medicines, vehicles... takes charge of a residential area. The medical staff also receive relief personnel from Hospital 103 (Hanoi). Residents in blockade areas must have the fastest access to health care, that is the goal of mobile medical stations. When people are sick or need medical care, mobile medical stations will be the place to receive, provide instructions, handle timely, limit severe cases.
Uyen Hung ward (Tan Uyen town), in addition to their own personnel, also received relief from military medical force of mobile medical stations. Lieutenant Ha Van Huy, an officer of Military Medical Academy (Ministry of National Defense) working at Uyen Hung Ward mobile medical station, said that the station received many emergency calls from people every day. With the spirit "Fighting the pandemic like fighting the enemy", members of the station are always ready to provide emergency aid as quickly as possible to protect people’s health as well as reduce the pressure on Covid-19 treatment facilities.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Dang Quang Vinh, a resident doctor of Military Medical Academy, working at mobile medical station of Thai Hoa Ward (Tan Uyen town), said the station publicise phone numbers for people to call whenever they need Covid-19 or health advice. Medical team of this station are always on duty 24/7, ready to support patients via hotline number, and immediately go to their house to give treatment, provide medicines or transfer patients to the upper levels of treatment when the illness become severe.
Currently, mobile medical stations not only manage and care for Covid-19 patients but also provide medical examination and treatment for other common diseases and advice for people after vaccination, so they have reduced the burden on local health stations. In particular, people with Covid-19 infection after treatment, may have very unexpected developments. Therefore, mobile medical stations promptly handle these cases right on the spot. Advice provision for people after Covid-19 vaccination by doctors of mobile medical stations is also necessary and important.
Timely provision of emergency care for severe F0s
To ensure operational efficiency, mobile medical stations are fully equipped with necessary means, manpower, medical supplies and treatment medicines; ensure that people have access to health care as quickly as possible. In addition to being ready to meet people’s demand for be medical examination and treatment during social distancing period, mobile medical stations also assist Covid-19 patients after treatment and returning home.
Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Director of Tan Uyen town Medical Center, said that mobile medical stations in the town have actively provided medical support for people in the area. In seven blockaded wards, there were 21 mobile medical stations, including 8 main stations. On average, stations receive 30-50 emergency phone calls from residents every day. Medical teams have come to people's homes to examine, handle and transfer emergency cases to hospitals in a timely manner. Mobile medical stations has relieved the overload of patients, especially F0 patients at commune and ward health stations. "With severe cases of Covid-19 infection, medical staff of mobile medical stations can provide first aid, then transfer patients to the upper levels in a timely manner. Mobile medical stations have helped the town significantly reduce fatality," said Dr. Chin.
Mobile medical stations in lockdown areas of Thuan An, Di An cities are proving their effectiveness, aiding in the treatment, emergency care, timely transfer of Covid-19 patients, and initial medical examination and treatment for people. The Ministry of National Defense also deployed 2,230 soldiers to support Binh Duong in preventing and combating the Covid-19 in the context of the local shortage of human resources. Thanks to these personnel, Binh Duong established 60 medical teams to serve in mobile medical stations.
