Provincial People's Committee instructed to strengthen waste management measures to prevent and combat Covid-19 (caused by the novel coronavirus). Accordingly, provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment in collaboration with Department of Health, provincial Police Department, Market Management Department, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities need to intensify dissemination and encourage the people to strictly comply with recommendations and instructions of Ministry of Health on the use of facemasks to prevent and fight epidemics; to raise people's awareness of the use of normal facemasks in people's daily activities.

These normal facemasks that have no risk of infections will be used as recommended by the manufacturers and Ministry of Health; after use must be put in prescribed places, not discharged into the environment, must be collected and treated as for ordinary waste. Strengthen inspection and supervision of medical waste treatment at medical facilities, hazardous waste treatment facilities (with infectious medical waste treatment) in localities and strictly handle them according to regulations if detecting violations of environmental protection; direct medical centers and quarantine areas to arrange collection and storage of medical masks as prescribed; instruct people, who visit health facilities for health examine, before leaving must discharge masks into medical waste storage devices and treated in accordance with regulations to prevent the risk of spreading...
