Diverse forms of taking care
In many years, Binh Duong has paid attention to developing and organizing the implementation of social welfare policies. Currently, the standard of allowance in social protection establishments, social houses, social allowances in the community for social protection beneficiaries with permanent residence in the province is VND 340,000 / person /month. The beneficiaries of social protection are expanded, the level of support increased, not only support for healthcare, education, employment, accommodation but also participate in community activities. Since then, the material and spiritual life of social protection beneficiaries has been gradually improved, contributing to ensuring social security in the province.
Notably, provincial Social Protection Center under Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs is nurturing 80 elderly people and 63 children. Whenever these elderly people are sick, officials of this center take care of them whole-heartedly, do not bother to do things such as: personal hygiene, cleaning their rooms, caring for each meal, sleep, encouraging, sharing, helping them ease pains, fatigue of old age disease...
Nguyen Bao Thanh, Director of provincial Social Protection Center, said: “in addition to the care for material life, our staff also focuses on helping them spiritually, build a peaceful and happy life. As a result, at present, 100% of social protection beneficiaries having especially difficult circumstances are cared for by the center.
To ensure the caring and nurturing activities
There are currently 16 social protection centers and facilities in the province. These centers and facilities ensure the process of receiving, managing, and taking care of beneficiaries according to regulations. Every year, most beneficiaries are provided with clothes, blankets, shoes, health insurance cards in accordance with regulations of Provincial People's Committee. Children of school age are educated, receive vocational training, and disabled children are specially trained. The care and nurture work has gradually been improved in terms of quality, the level of benefits has been strictly implemented, with the right beneficiaries.
Le Minh Quoc Cuong, Director of Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs said: “The department, together with all levels and local authorities, regularly checks, supervises, and follows closely social protection establishments to ensure that the caring and nurturing activities go into order and in compliance with laws and regulations. Most social protection establishments strictly abide by the law, actively overcome existing difficulties, upgrade material facilities, and add professional human resources to take good care beneficiaries. A remarkable thing, the centers have records of management, financial tracking, and personal records of each beneficiary, perform data entry, and maintain periodic reporting”.
