“Happy Family-Prosperous Country” is the theme of the Vietnam Family Day 2023. With the aim of building happy families and accompanying difficult situations, in June, provincial Women's Unions all levels have organized many meaningful activities.
Joining hands to cultivate happiness
Truong Thanh Nga, Chairwoman of provincial Women's Union said that Vietnam Family Day (June 28) is a major cultural event to honor the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families. It is an opportunity to exchange and share experience in building cultural families towards the sustainable development of the families in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration.

“This is also an opportunity to raise high the responsibilities of all-level authorities, sectors, mass organizations and social organizations together with all families in building up a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family while promoting child protection, care and education, contributing to national construction and defense", said Mrs. Nga.
In response to that spirit, many activities are organized to help officials, members and women improve their position and income to build up families that are truly the healthy cells of the society. Provincial Women's Union Standing Committee has implemented activities to each Women’s Union branch with specific tasks such as providing loan support from sources, giving vocational training, making law dissemination, etc. Since then, the local sisters have been more aware of responsibilities in nurturing their families, making efforts to fulfill the duties of a wife and mother, which is considered as the best way to preserve and protect their families. Supporting women to build up happy and sustainable families is also one of the key tasks set out by provincial Women's Union to help members build up a prosperous - equal - progressive - happy family.
Plentiful activities
Vietnam Family Day is also a day when family members care more about each other and the society cares about children, those with disabilities, the elderly, etc. to overcome difficulties together. Therefore, starting from the beginning of June, depending on their ability, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels, have organized meaningful activities. Particularly, Thu Dau Mot city’s Women's Union organized the 2023 "Love connection" festival. There were more than 400 members, women and outstanding families from 14 wards to participate in the festival.
The festival took place with diverse content, attracting 36 families in competitions on karaoke singing with the theme of "Family is the fulcrum"; cooking with the theme of “Happy family”; sports with the theme of "Happy and healthy family"…The competitions took place animatedly, attracting the enthusiastic participation of members and women.
In addition, participants were also heard contents related to the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control, food hygiene and safety... from Tran My Le, former Deputy Head of Thu Dau Mot city’s Culture and Information Division. At the festival, the organizing board also gave 50 gifts for poor women; 10 sets of white Ao Dai for girls in need; offered support to 2 poor and orphaned children...
Also in Thu Dau Mot city, Phu Cuong ward’s Women's Union organized a family festival with booths on the art of calligraphy, “to he” for the children while giving 200 key chains and animals made from to he to children and people who came to visit the program. Sisters participating in the festival also received free skin care advice, medical check-up…In addition, ten gifts were given for families with difficult circumstances.
Localities have also simultaneously organized many meaningful programs around the themes of building up happy families, saying no to domestic violence… The Women's Union of Hung Dinh ward in Thuan An city has cooperated with relevant units to organize a talk show on "Happy family is the foundation of a prosperous country". At the talk show, the delegates shared their knowledge on building up a happy family, organizing family life, preparing for marriage and organizing life after marriage; propagandized prevention and control of domestic violence, gender violence, etc.
Also on this occasion, the Women's Union of Hung Dinh ward launched the club "Happy, healthy, self-confident women" with 17 members. Members of the club together got involved in sports activities to improve their health, supported activities to take care of the spiritual and material lives of women... This was also a practical activity, contributing to well implementing the emulation movement of "Binh Duong women have health, knowledge, creativity and responsibility"...
