2011 is the first year for a 5-year plan on town socio-economic development with investment attraction, urban development to turn Thu Dau Mot town into 1st class urban area.
Efforts to reach a 21% rise of economy
At the 17th session of Thu Dau Mot town People’s Council, the town set out a goal of economic growth at 21% with the structure of service-industry and agriculture for 2011. The locality targeted to reach an income of VND48.16mil per capita per year, a 19.8% increase from 2010… In terms of social issues, the locality will maintain replacement birth level, keep 100% of communes, wards winning national standards on healthcare, 99% of people using clean water and reduce the rate of poverty under 1.5%...
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Road will be hastened progress in 2011.
The town will focus on solving shortcomings on service and trade to help investors launch projects rapidly. Ineffective projects will be revoked. Besides, the town will give priority to upgrade and improve the quality of markets at all levels. As for agriculture, the locality will launch plans on new rural building for Tan An and Tuong Binh Hiep communes and training classes on tech-science in farmstead. Aside from the effective implementation of investment attraction, the locality will offer favorable conditions to develop handicraft industry, improve some traditional craft villages and place jobs for local people…
Approaching 1st class urban standard
For construction and urban management, the town strives to obtain plans on urban rejuvenation in 2011, launch common planning on urban building in attachment to underground planning.
In terms of basic construction, the locality will hasten investment progress and give priority to key works as well as expand urban space. Works of roads along Sai Gon River, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Bui Van Binh Roads and Nguyen Dinh Chieu high school will be also hastened their progresses. Besides, the town will step up inspections on building and fitting light system across 145 rural routes, develop urban routes for the 2011-2020 period and launch solutions against flooding…
Completion of the proposed targets will help the town soon become 1st class urban area in the future.
