Especially, trade union locals mobilized employers to organize weekend playgrounds for laborers. Through Trade Unions at all levels, provincial People’s Committee offered 10,350 gifts worth nearly VND5.2billion to laborers with extremely difficult circumstances. Under the “Sentimental bus trip” program 2019, nearly 5,000 immigrant workers with difficult circumstances were taken to home for Tet. With such significance, the two programs received enthusiastic response from province-based enterprises.
Provincial Labor Union has also regularly conducted and supported Trade Union locals to sign collective labor deals, implement grassroots democratic regulations at workplace…, thereby contributing to helping laborers remove their difficulties.
The whole province now has nearly 60% of valid collective labor deals applied among enterprises with trade union locals. The contents of these deals have contributed to protecting laborers’ legitimate rights and interests, minimizing labor disputes, increasing labor productivity, creating a motivation for laborers to work and affirming the role of the Trade Union in building up harmonious labor relations…
Breakthrough needed
Truong Thu Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that under the contents of the 12th National Trade Union congress, provincial Labor Union has set up a plan on the implementation of the program improving the effectiveness of realizing tasks on taking care of and protecting laborers’ legitimate rights and interests for the 2018-2023 period.
To realize the plan, Trade Unions at all levels need to improve the quality of participation in making policies in favor of laborers and the Trade Union. They also need to effectively carry out a task of making collective dialogues, boost their participation in creating jobs for laborers…
Enhancing tasks of Trade Unions at all levels needs to be implemented in association with the benefits of trade unionists and laborers. They also need to bend on taking care of and protecting laborers’ legitimate rights and interests; build up harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations; strengthen inspection, supervision and social criticism; effective realize labor safety and hygiene, contributing to improving working conditions, minimizing labor accidents, occupational diseases; building up competent Trade Union officials at requirements of the new context.
