Traditional medicine network works more efficiently

 

On May 27, provincial Steering Committee of Traditional Medicine Development held a conference to review 5-year implementation of Binh Duong province traditional medicine developing plan in 2010-2015, deploy traditional medicine works in 2016-2020.

In the 2010-2015 period, the quality of healthcare services by traditional medicine was improved; material facilities, equipment were upgraded; personnel was reinforced, cultivated, and improved their awareness, attitude towards patients. Therefore, targets were basically completed: provincial level achieved 17% (target 15%), commune level 43% (target 30%). The traditional medicine network from provincial to grassroots level has worked more efficiently, enhanced the combination with modern medicine in health care and treatment for the people. At present, there is 1 province-level Traditional Medicine Hospital; 80% medical centers of districts, towns and city have traditional medicine ward; 91/91 grassroots-level clinics have traditional medicine clinics; 100% staff of traditional medicine at communal clinics obtained traditional medicine qualifications of intermediate or higher level. Besides, traditional medicine private network in the province has been gradually developed and better met health care needs of the people.

In the 2016-2020 period, provincial Steering Committee of Traditional Medicine Development continue to advise, strengthen, perfect infrastructure, equipment and personnel for traditional medicine; develop provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital as a general hospital meeting second-class criteria; 100% of health centers have traditional medicine ward. By 2020, healthcare by traditional medicine target would achieve 20% general healthcare target of the province, district level would achieve 25%, and communal level would achieve 40%.
