Traditional products promoted

Early September 14, provincial People's Council’s Cultural and Social Committee had a working session with relevant departments, sectors and localities after a supervision session on tourism development associated with preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional craft villages in Tan Uyen city, Thuan An city and Thu Dau Mot city. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council.

As of now, Binh Duong has two traditional crafts recognized as national intangible cultural heritages, including "Tuong Binh Hiep Lacquer Village" and "Binh Duong ceramic craft". In the local tourism development orientation to 2025, Binh Duong has chosen a tour to traditional craft villages associated with Tuong Binh Hiep Lacquer Village, Tan Phuoc Khanh Pottery and Minh Long Ceramics Museum - as one of the local typical tourism products.

Reportedly, despite receiving attention, tourism development associated with preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional craft villages in the province over the past time still faced many shortcomings, including no policy to support the development of tourism in general and tourism associated with preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional craft villages in particular; inadequacies in management, due to overlap in management of occupations, craft villages and traditional craft villages; craft village tourism products that are still fragmentary and not really complete...

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Loc requested provincial People's Council’s Cultural and Social Committee to study opinions by delegates in order to complete a report after the monitoring session. Relevant departments, sectors and localities need to pay attention to working with units and tourist sites in supporting display locations to introduce and bring traditional craft products closer to many people; calculate and plan appropriately to invest in developing the province's tourism potential and call for socialization in the field.
