On August 22, in Binh Duong, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in collaboration with Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a training workshop to improve the capacity of union officials for prevention and reduction of child labor.
At the training, Dang Hoa Nam, Director of Children Department under Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, gave a presentation to raise trade union official’s awareness, responsibility towards prevention and reduction of child labor in contravention of the law; build capacity and instruct trade union staff in appropriate communication forms of illegal child labor prevention, detection, intervention, reduction.
In recent time, the child labor prevention and reduction program in Binh Duong province has been organized regularly and continuously with campaigns attracting the participation of the whole society to minimize early child labor, child labor in hard, toxic conditions. The province also piloted "Child labor prevention and control" club in Di An and Thuan An town; organized training courses on the implementation of child labor prevention and reduction program for union staff at district and commune levels and collaborators in hamlets.
