From damaged traffic system after wars, leadership generations of transportation sector in Binh Duong province have promoted the pioneer tradition to advise provincial Party Committee, People's Committee to make important decisions and attract economic sectors to participate in transportation system development.
Promoting creativeness, pioneering spirit
After the national liberation, provincial traffic infrastructure was so weak, comprising mainly damages small pathways. Although the common economy encountered many difficulties, with the main objective to restore the main traffic system and protect the homeland, leaders of transportation sector advised provincial Party Committee, People's Committee to focus on upgrading highways, exploit bridge system…

Since the Party’s Renewal (1986), transportation sector were assigned: “Going ahead in order to meet the development requirement of the national economy - the most important component of the infrastructure '', provincial sectorial leadership actively advised PPC to prioritize road traffic infrastructure to link Binh Duong with other localities through the expansion of Highway 13. This project was a breakthrough that opened the transport way serving production, export, facilitating investment attraction, local socio-economic development.
Subsequently, bridge and road network were also upgraded, expanded, like: DT741, DT742, DT744... Iron bridges were replaced by reinforced concreted ones, such as: Phuoc Hoa bridge, Ong Co bridge, Ong Tiep bridge, Ba Kien bridge, Tong Ban bridge…
Uninterrupted and comprehensive connection
Along with socialization, Binh Duong widened Highway 13 to 62km long, become type I road with 6 lanes. This is the two main traffic axis of the province, connecting southern industrial parks, urban areas with northern areas, and Binh Duong with Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc province, the Central Highlands and Cambodia.
Besides developing highways, the province has focused on rural road construction. With the motto "The State and people work together", receiving positive responses from the people, the province has completed 9,174 projects with a total cost of VND2,319 billion. Rural road system has covered most areas in the province, creating favorable conditions for transporting, agricultural production of people in remote areas.
Urban transport system has been also invested in accordance with urbanization progress and the overall planning of socio-economic development and urbanization.
Due to comprehensive basic internal and external transport infrastructure, provincial transportation system integrated quickly into national and regional traffic flow.
Turning towards civilized, modern urban
Due to open investment policy and environment, Binh Duong province developed 28 industrial parks and consolidated infrastructure to attract domestic and foreign investments. Binh Duong is striving to become a city under the Central with 2.5 million persons and 6 urban districts and 4 suburban districts until 2020.
Mr. Tran Ba Luan, Director of provincial Department of Transport said, the province has developed various types of public transport to meet travel demand, reduce private vehicles, ensure sustainable development. In addition, an effective public transport system will also support urban development. Therefore, to develop sustainably public transporting forms, PPC approved Public transporting system planning in Binh Duong province until 2025 in vision of after 2025 to promote large-volume transporting forms (BRT bus, metro and urban railway...), apply advanced technologies into management, like: monitoring routes, using IC card (Free Pass) for bus passengers.
On the other hand, Binh Duong coordinated with Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to implement the project of improving traffic system, public transporting network in Binh Duong; BRT bus project; put into use many new vehicles, like: Japanese-style buses, metro, urban rail, Ben Cat - Suoi Tien metro line linking with Binh Duong New City…
