Upholding the doctrine of gratitude, local Party Committee, authority, and people of Phu An Commune have been taking good care of and assisting socially privileged families and people of contribution to the nation. Phu An Commune Party Committee and local people have been offered merit certificate proposal of Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to Provincial People’s Committee on marking the 70th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day. Such has been the joy and motivation for the local authority to excel in activities of gratitude.
Worthy as heroes
Phu An Commune is one of the place in iron-triangle of Ben Cat Town and has been named as a commune of heroes by the State. Be worthy of a land of resistance war, the commune had 49 injured war veterans, 266 martyrs, 85 people of national contribution, 49 Vietnamese heroic mothers (only 2 alive), and 5 victims of Agent Orange.
The war was no more and people of national contribution in the commune have made efforts to construct the beautiful and civilized home land of Phu An Commune. They are now so proud of their efforts in eliminating the enemies to protect their homeland as well as the compensation and care of local authorities towards them.

Duties well fulfilled
The movement of gratitude has been encouraged in Phu An Commune to be implemented by the assistance of majority of local people along with implementation of ordinance on policies and benefits for people of national contribution so as to express gratitude to their contribution. The policies and benefits including education, medical insurance, and housing have been offered to them right away. All socially privileged families and people of national contribution have been benefited of all the policies and benefits as required. From 2012 to 2017 alone, Phu An Commune authority has facilitated to construct 13 charity houses and repaired 23 ones at the cost of over VND 1.5 billion from the State’s budget and donation. Over VND 12 billion of Tet gifts has been donated to 2,526 turns of people of national contribution who have also offered loans for household business development and free healthcare programs.
Towards the 70th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day on July 27, the commune authority has planned gifting visits to socially privileged families and people of national contribution in the commune. Concurrently, from July 1, the donation is called upon organizations, agencies, unions, and individuals to assist and encourage them to overcome hardship.
Vo Thi Cam Lien, the Deputy Chair of Phu An Commune People’s Committee informed of the social welfare program with care for people of national contribution. The caretaking has been integrated into poverty reduction, new rural area construction, healthcare, and education. The programs are financed by the State’s budget and social donation. To assist and improve live hood of socially privileged families and people of national contribution in the locality, the commune authority has prioritized loans for economic development. Accordingly, socially privileged families and people of national contribution in the locality have been enjoying average live hood. They have also become models of land donation for construction of new rural areas.
