On March 21, Binh Duong Electricity Company said that the Earth Hour 2021 in Vietnam will take place from 20:30 to 21:30 on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
The Earth Hour marks an action that demonstrates a sense of voluntary responsibility in saving electricity, contributing to reducing CO2 emissions and combating the global climate change. Previously, provincial People's Committee issued the Official Letter No. 911/ UBND-KT directing departments, sectors and Binh Duong Electricity Company to respond to the 2021 Earth Hour campaign. Accordingly, the 2021 Earth Hour campaign will be strengthened by online propaganda activities to ensure the community’s health amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic. In order to call on the local people and businesses to respond to the 2021 Earth Hour campaign, Binh Duong Power Company has carried out many propaganda forms such as broadcasting via mobile speakers in quarters, wards, communes; hanging banners and slogans along main streets; reading messages calling for people to respond to the event on television; coordinating with provincial Youth Union to organize propaganda on environmental protection activities against climate change among Youth Union members and mass organizations in the province.
The Earth Hour is initiated by the International Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise public awareness about climate change and save energy around the world.
