He highlighted that this was a golden opportunity—Vietnam’s revolution stands at the threshold of a new era, an era of national resurgence.

Rising in new era

In a thematic report on "Guiding Ideology and Major Orientations of the Party and General Secretary To Lam on “The New Era – The Era of National Rise” as well as central  directives on the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Assoc. Prof., PhD. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Director of the Regional Political Academy II emphasized that the "era of national rise" implies a powerful, decisive and determined movement—one that is proactive, fueled by internal strength and brimming with confidence to overcome challenges, realize aspirations to achieve great accomplishments.

An overview of the conference

The New Era – The Era of Vietnam’s National Rise is an era of growth and prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, striving for the successful construction of a socialist Vietnam—where the people are prosperous, the nation is strong and society is democratic, equal and civilized, standing proudly alongside powerful countries all over the world. In this new era, every citizen enjoys a prosperous and happy life, with opportunities for development and wealth creation. Vietnam aims at making greater contributions to global peace, stability and development as well as the happiness of humanity and the progress of civilization worldwide.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, the ultimate goal of this era of national advancement is a prosperous people, a strong country and a socialist society that stands on par with the world's powerful countries. The top priority in this new era is to successfully achieve strategic objectives: By 2030, Vietnam aims at becoming a developing country with a modern industrial base and upper average income; by 2045, it strives to be a developed socialist nation with high income. This is a period of awakening national pride, fostering self-reliance, confidence, resilience and a strong aspiration for national development while closely integrating national strength with the strength of the times. The starting point of this new era is the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. From this moment forward, millions of Vietnamese people, united as one under the Party's leadership, will work together with unwavering determination, seizing every opportunity, overcoming challenges and propelling the nation toward comprehensive, powerful and breakthrough development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung analyzed seven strategic orientations to lead the country into a new era—the era of national advancement. These include improving the Party’s leadership methods; strengthening the Party’s role in building and perfecting a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people; streamlining the organizational apparatus for effective and efficient operations; accelerating digital transformation; combating wastefulness; enhancing the quality of officials and cadres and fostering economic development. Each orientation includes both immediate and long-term solutions for implementation.

Full awareness for collective action

In his directive speech on ideological and propaganda work in the coming period, comrade Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda-Education and Mass Mobilization Commission urged district/city-level Party Committees and Party Committees under provincial Party  Committee together with provincial Fatherland Front Committee to effectively implement political and ideological education among officials, Party members and civil servants. Political and social organizations, associations and mass organizations at all levels should intensify information dissemination through various channels, with a particular focus on direct communication to explain, clarify and ensure a deep and accurate understanding. This should be closely integrated with monitoring public opinion and addressing concerns, obstacles, suggestions and recommendations from officials, Party members and people during the implementation of new policies from the Government and the province.

Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan emphasized that provincial propaganda-education sector and press agencies should focus on developing specialized columns and increasing coverage on key topics, including the nation's era of resurgence, the restructuring of the organizational apparatus, breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, national digital transformation and double-digit economic growth in 2025 and in the following years. Particularly, they should focus on promoting the great achievements of the country after 40 years of making renovation and entering a new era - the era of development and prosperity; focusing on promoting the implementation of the revolution to streamline the apparatus of the political system to operate effectively and efficiently; promoting the dissemination of the Politburo’s Conclusions No. 126, 127, 128.

Additionally, relevant agencies and units should further promote the study, dissemination and effective implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15 on the pilot implementation of special mechanisms and policies to drive breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation. The focus should be on emphasizing that science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation are the foremost strategic breakthroughs and key drivers for rapidly advancing modern production forces, refining production relations, transforming national governance models, fostering socio-economic development and preventing the risk of lagging behind. These efforts aim at propelling Vietnam into a period of rapid and sustainable growth, leading to prosperity in the new era. By the 100th founding anniversary of the country (1945–2045), Vietnam is set to become a high-income developed nation. Furthermore, information should be provided on key targets and a list of breakthrough projects in science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation that will be implemented in the coming period across the province’s communes, wards and townships.

Along with the task of disseminating the Party, State, Government and National Assembly's major policies and orientations, agencies and units will focus on promoting solutions to achieve double-digit economic growth, as outlined in provincial Party Committee’s Directive No. 53-CT/TU, dated February 21, 2025, along with guidance from provincial Propaganda-Education and Mass Mobilization Commission. The goal is to foster strong consensus within the political system and across the society, inspiring a sense of national purpose among officials, civil servants and workers, especially among economic sectors, for the objectives, tasks, and solutions aimed at achieving a GDP growth rate of at least 10% in 2025. This foundation will pave the way for sustained double-digit growth in subsequent years, ensuring the successful realization of Vietnam’s strategic development goals by 2030 and 2045.

At the conference held yesterday morning (March 18), speakers provided information on the Government's new policies and directives as well as the province's implementation efforts regarding the restructuring and streamlining of the political system’s organizational apparatus. Reports covered various topics, including the Government’s and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee’s policies on streamlining the organizational structure within the Fatherland Front, associations and mass organizations. Additionally, there were reports on the Government and the province’s policies and directions on socio-economic development with the target of double-digit growth; new directions on temporarily suspending investment, repair, construction of headquarters, purchasing equipment, reviewing and rectifying the use of capital for urban rejuvenation...
