Support for Covid-19 prevention and control, people hit by salt intrusion, drought:

Upholding strength of great national unity

Over the past time, provincial Fatherland Front Committee called on collectives and individuals to support the local Covid-19 prevention, control and people affected by drought and salt intrusion in the Mekong Delta province. The support strongly pervaded the life of the local people.

Joining hands to support

In response to the call from provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC), people from all strata in the province made contributions to COVID-19 prevention and people hit by drought and salt intrusion via many forms.

From March 19 to April 30, provincial Relief Committee received more than VND11billion in cash and necessities worth nearly VND4billion from provincial Relief Fund. Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also mobilized businesses to donate rice to the local poor people.

Whilst, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and cities received more than VND8billion from organizations, individuals. Provincial Red Cross Society and mass organizations also mobilized members and businesses to offer help of more than VND211billion to people with difficult circumstances.

Under the Resolution No.42 of the Government, provincial FFC coordinated with provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to support more than VND6billion for 6,839 lottery ticket vendors. More than 1,000 proprietors made rent fee exemption for 38,632 lodging rooms with VND15billion and donated 19,596 gifts worth nearly VND7.5billion to workers hit by Covid-19 pandemic.

Pervasion of noble deed

Provincial Relief Committee also handed over all the money raised to five localities heavily hit by drought and salt intrusion while sending all the necessities mobilized to provincial Department of Health for allocation in isolation areas. Especially, the province also held delegations to visit and offer money and medical necessities to Cambodia’s two provinces of Kandal and Kratie; Laos’Champasak province and Japan’s Yamaguchi province.

Possibly speaking, Binh Duong is not only a bright spot in Covid-19 prevention and control, but also in support activities for the poor amid the pandemic.

Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged and spoke highly of the role of members of the Mobilization Committee, contributions by agencies, units, businesses, organizations, individuals and people from all strata…, joining hands in prevention, control of Covid-19 pandemic, drought and salt intrusion in the Mekong Delta region. Provincial FFCs at all levels and their member organizations were proactive to disseminate Covid-19 prevention and control. Whilst, districts, towns and cities in the province also upheld the role of Fatherland Front Committees in residential areas and prestigious individuals in propaganda and mobilization, contributing to connecting the solidarity of the whole Party and people.
