Binh Duong is now home to nearly 900,000 workers, over 60% of whom are immigrants. Taking care of them is a “thorny” problem for the local administration. The efforts by the local authorities at all levels plus proper policies have helped improve workers’ spiritual and material lives. Upon this, workers have upheld their competence and created useful initiatives, contributing to promoting the evolution of enterprises and the locality.

Trade Unions accompanying young workers
The theme of this year’s Workers’ Month is “Trade Unions accompany enterprises’ sustainable growth for the sake of workers’ lives”.
In response to the 2015 Workers’ Month and Week, the Trade Union of provincial textile-garment sector has kicked off a mini-football tournament for female and male workers with the participation of 21 football teams. The Trade Union has also sorted out 38 outstanding workers who will be honored by provincial Labor Union. In addition, locals under the Trade Union have organized such significant activities as visiting and presenting gifts to workers hit by labor accidents, needy trade unionists; holding sports festivals, art performances…
TDM city-based firms have also always attached special importance to taking care of workers’ lives. During the 2015 Workers’ Month, the city’s Labor Union will organize delegations to visit and present gifts worth between VND500,000 and VND600,000 each nearly 20 workers hit by labor accidents with the disability level of 10% and above.
On this occasion, the city’s Labor Union has planned to organize a mini-football tournament for workers. This will be an useful playground for workers to exchange and improve their health.
In May, provincial Labor Union is expected to open a meeting with workers to opportunely remove their difficulties, contributing to building up harmonious labor relations among enterprises. A mini-football tournament for male and female workers will be also organized on May 9 with the participation of laborers from province-based enterprises.
Such these apart, provincial Labor Union will hold a conference honoring outstanding individuals towards the 4th provincial patriotic emulation conference; boost law dissemination among workers. Trade Union locals are also encouraged to organize dialogues with workers; visit and present gifts to them; kick off cultural-sports activities for them…, contributing to taking care of their material and spiritual lives.

Along with taking care of workers’ spiritual and material lives, provincial Labor Union promoted the “Working well, working creatively” emulation movement among them over the past five years. Workers also created many useful initiatives through the emulation movement, contributing to helping enterprises improve their working environment, save production costs, restrict labor accidents…
Many outstanding individuals, namely Dao Huy Chung of King Jim Vietnam Co.Ltd. at Ben Cat town-based My Phuoc 3 industrial park, Lam Hung Cuong of Foster Electronics Co.Ltd. at TDM city-based VSIP II, Nguyen Thi Thanh Chung of Yazaki Co.Ltd. at Ben Cat town-based My Phuoc 2 industrial park…were also discovered from the emulation movement. Their technical initiatives were applied in production and business, helping enterprises enjoy the annual benefit of billions of dong.
As planned, around 632 outstanding laborers between 2010 and 2015 will be honored by provincial Labor Union. Nguyen Thien Phuoc, President of provincial Labor Union said: “As of now, there have been hundreds of technical initiatives researched and applied, bringing benefits to enterprises and contributing to improving workers’ lives in all aspects”.
