On May 28th, Chairman of PPC Mr. Tran Van Nam, presided over the meeting summing up urban social housing development program in the period 2011- 2015 towards 2020 at provincial Administrative Center. Directors of departments, agencies, and localities attended the meeting.

Urban and social housing development are key programs set forward by Resolution of provincial Party Congress (2010-2015 term). Accordingly, provincial urban areas have initially established and met requirements of technical infrastructure, and have been consistent with the general plan. Until now, the province has reached 14/18 economic, urban engineering indicators.
Regarding social housing, the province has initially met the demand for accommodation of workers, low-income people. After 5 years, the programs has attracted 82 projects worth VND19,034 billion with a total area of 3,899,949m2 satisfying accommodation demands of 238,325 persons. Total area of social housing in this period was 1,307,700m2 satisfying accommodation demands of 110,907 persons, reached 74.73% target. In the period 2011-2015, the total area of lodging houses rose by 1,200,000m2 satisfying accommodation demands of about 217,510 persons, being equivalent to 68.57% target.
Mr. Tran Van Nam concluded at the meeting, these were two major programs of provincial Party Committee must be implemented by the whole political system. The programs represented the strategic direction of provincial leadership throughout many years. Reviewing, evaluating was to devise solutions, to develop Binh Duong province as type 1 urban area prior 2020.
