US$50,000 subscribed to the VSIP Charity Fund

The Management Board of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park and the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company jointly held the 10th VSIP charity day on May 26 and 27.

With the theme of “Around the world”, this year’s VSIP charity day subscribed US$50,000 to the VSIP charity fund (photo), which will be further used for awarding scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils across the province and promoting the activities of the VSIP charity consulting room.

In 2011 alone, the VSIP Charity Fund continued awarding scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils across the province; set up the VSIP charity consulting room in Tan Uyen and built 20 houses of compassion for needy people in Tan Uyen district and Thuan An town.

The fund also gave support to Agent Orange victims, awarded scholarships to pupils at Thuan An town’s school for the disabled and got involved in many other charity doings.

Especially, this year’s VSIP charity day was organized in May in response to the 2012 Month for Young Workers launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. The event took place with many animated activities, including a marathon competition, folk games, art performances…, with the participation of hundreds of workers in the VSIP.

Under the cooperation from provincial Department of Planning and Investment’s Trade Promotion Center, 70 pavilions with necessary commodities offered discounts of up to 50% for laborers were also organized during the event.

Apartedly, this year’s VSIP charity day got animatedly with an art performance themed “Around the world” with the performance of candidates from the VSIP Elegant Competition in colorful costumes of many different countries.

Nguyen Phu Thinh, General Director of the Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company said that after 10-year development, the VSIP charity day has well completed its role as an annual playground for thousands of workers and successfully built the VSIP charity fund. The VSIP charity day has also contributed to making a cultural feature of the whole VSIP with the goal towards community.
