Binh Duong has held a ceremony to launch a large-scale vaccination and disinfection spray to prevent and control the Covid-19 outbreak on July 24. With the goal to achieve community immunity, the Covid-19 jabs will be given free of charge to residents of the province. Along with the vaccine, a large-scale disinfection spray to quickly eliminate risk factors and contribute to the protection of a healthy living environment for people is also carried out.

1 million people will be vaccinated
At the launching ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health, said that Covid-19 vaccination for the whole community is an active and effective measure. To implement the Government's Resolution No. 21/NQ-CP on purchasing and using Covid-19 vaccines, Binh Duong has implemented safe and effective vaccination. The subjects to be injected are the frontline anti-epidemic forces and expanded subjects, striving to quickly reach 70% of the provincial population to receive the 1st jab and then the 2nd one.
In particular, in this campaign, Binh Duong will immediately organize to inject 307,000 doses of vaccine. The campaign will be carried out at fixed injection points in 91 communes, wards, towns and roving injection points in industrial parks, industrial clusters, and eligible businesses. With the maximum progress of 30,000 people/day, the campaign is expected to be completed in about half a month. The cost without vaccines is estimated at 50 billion VND. At the launching ceremony, government sectors, levels, units and people in the province continued to implement the "Vaccine + 5K", vaccination against Covid-19 is a right and a responsibility towards the community.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: "Today, we hold the launching ceremony of vaccination and launch a large-scale disinfection in the province. This is an important event that affirms the very high determination of Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee in proactively preventing and responding to the pandemic, best protecting people's health and lives, bringing back the normalcy quickly". According to Vo Van Minh, the first jab of Binh Duong have been given to the frontline forces to fight the epidemic. Vaccines are distributed according to the principles of fairness, equality, openness, transparency, flexibility and effectiveness. The goal of the vaccine strategy is to give free vaccinations to the entire population in the province to achieve community immunity.
In parallel with the vaccine, the province will carry out large-scale disinfection spraying to quickly eliminate risk factors, contributing to protecting a healthy living environment for people. It is expected that the province will give Covidd-19 jabs to more than 1 million people along with disinfecting sprays in public areas in the second half of 2021 and early 2022. “In order for the large-scale vaccination and disinfection spray plan to gain high results, branches, units and localities need to well organize the works methodically and in accordance with the procedure. Medical forces and the army must be the core and coordinate with departments and localities. Especially in the coming time, with a large number of vaccines, we need to develop a scenario for timely, safe and effective storage, transportation and distribution," said Vo Van Minh.
Widespread disinfection spray, the environment sanitization
Also at the ceremony, trucks of medical and military forces conduct a parade to disinfect the environment in TDM City. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Trong Co, Deputy Commander of Provincial Military Command, said that the provincial armed forces had many initiatives, improvements, and effective application for effective anti-epidemic work, such as: Improve the means of spraying and disinfecting, arrange disinfection spray rigs and partitions in isolation areas to reduce personnel and increase the ability to prevent cross-contamination in concentrated isolation areas.
“The Provincial Military Command converted trucks into a disinfection vehicles and got eight vehicles. With the advantage of low cost, minimizing operators, reducing cross-contamination in concentrated isolation areas but without changing the vehicle's function after performing the task, it is an effective solution for disease prevention control. In addition, the Provincial Military Command cooperated with the 4th Army Corps to organize 13 times of disinfecting sprays in key areas with a total area of over 600 hectares, allocated human resource to protect the outer lines of isolation areas, contributing to reducing pressure", said Senior Colonel Dinh Trong Co.
According to statistics, on the launching day of Covid-19 vaccination campaign, the whole province had 400 people receiving the first jabs and 32 people receiving second jabs. It is expected that the total number of people vaccinated in this time will be 1,317 getting the first jabs and 372 getting the second jabs. In order for the vaccination campaign to be effective, the province carry out information and communication in various media forms so that people can understand clearly (about the benefits of vaccines, vaccination schedules, safety of vaccines, the possible adverse events after vaccination) and actively participate in this campaign.
