By approval of Binh Duong People’s Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with HQ of the 4th batallion and Vietnam Federation of Sports bicycle and bike to organize 125cc motorbike race – Vietnam Moto Cub Prix II 2011.
The competition of Rebel USA Cup will be at stadium of the 4th batallion for two days of October 29 and 30 in Di An Town.
“The tournament is to sellect and train young talents preparing for regional professional motorbike race in 2015. This also offers them with ‘healthy’ play ground in a bid to eliminate illegal racing,” said Mr. Tran Minh Quy, Manager of the tournament.
At a press conference announcing strict professional regulations, the organizer publicized requirements of the tournament with Notus SI 125R and fuel supplied by organizer and other special requirements for safety of racers.
After 16 years of organizing, over 22 times played, this race is considered of scale in the history of racing in Vietnam, said Mr. Tran Minh Quy. Now, 96 racers from 19 clubs are to compete in four-stroke Notus SI125R which is considered as promising to bring up attractive and heart-kicking performance.
According to organizer, this time’s competition will mark the first prominent sports event in Vietnam and region by a detachable viewing stage for 12,280 seats highly guaranteed by Korean technology.
At the press conference, newspaper reporters raise questions of the posibility of shifting social conception towards motor racing or encouragement of illegal juvenile motor racing. They also inquired for when Vietnamese racers would be qualified enough to compete in international arena.
Mr. Tran Minh Quy explains to reporters and claims that juvenile illegal racers are those who have no play ground, and thus, the competition will guide them to rightful actions. The first tournament would be good foundation for successful 2nd tournament this time, he said.
The race is sponsored by Rabel USA Corp which supplies all vehicles for the tournament.
