According to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Vietnam saved 546,000kWh of electricity, equivalent to VND 712 million, by switching off lights during the Earth Hour, from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 31, 2012. In the past year, the country saved 400,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to VND 500 million during the Earth Hour, from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 26, 2011.
On the March 31, millions of people
across 150 nations and territories gathered at central areas to respond the
Earth Hour campaign 2012. According to AFP, the Earth Hour campaign 2012

Iraq,
International Space Station (ISS). The Opera House and Harbor Bridge
in Sydney of Australia was the places welcoming the event soonest.
Further afield, international landmarks also joined in the event including Tokyo (Japan), China, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the tallest building in the world, Dubai's Burg Khalifa, London (Britain).
In Singapore, 32 shopping malls with 370 businesses also turned off their lights. In Philippines, 1,780 police stations and training centers also joined in the event.
