The 9th Executive Board of the 6th provincial Red Cross Society, on July 24, forwarded a conference with a focus on reviewing the society’s activities in the first half of 2015 and defining orientations for the rest of the year.
Over the past 6 months, the society mobilized VND36bln from organizations and individuals for social charity activities. Particularly, 41,652 Tet gifts worth over VND12.8bln were mobilized for the poor, the disable, Agent Orange victims and children with difficult circumstances. The “Each organization, individual is associated with a humanitarian address” campaign mobilized organizations, individuals to offer help of nearly VND1.1bln to 4,512 needy cases. The society also visited and presented gifts to 13,156 cases; paid gift visits to 4,434 members with illness; awarded 1,560 gifts, scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils; built 16 “red cross” houses, upgraded 22 other houses for families with extremely difficult circumstances; gave non-interest rate support in terms of loans, nurslings, breeding animals…valued at nearly VND21.4bln for 7,151 needy members to develop home based business, helping them stabilize their lives…
