Project on vocational training for rural laborers based on Decision 1956/QD-TTg has opened opportunities for farmers to help them approach programs of vocational training, job generation. The provincial steering board of project on vocational training for rural laborers just held a 2-year preliminary summing up conference on implementation of the project of “Vocational training for rural laborers till 2020”.
Bringing vocational training to rural areas
According to the provincial Job Center vice director Bui Van Kieu, project of “Vocational training for rural laborers till 2020” includes programs, syllabi, equipments and teachers adequately. However, a big problem is how to meet every locality’s demand on business and production.
On reality, vocational training for rural laborers has yet to attach to demand on production and business. Over the past 2 years, Binh Duong Job Center has made efforts to implement vocational training for rural laborers and to cooperate with localities, mass bodies and vocational training centers to open vocational training classes for rural laborers. Sine 2010, the center has opened 55 classes with over 1,400 learners. The training majors have been close to programs of economic development, livestock and plant structure transfer and new rural building.
Through the vocational training classes, learners have enjoyed knowledge on technical science to make wealth and escape poverty. As a result, vocational training for rural laborers has contributed to improve labor capacity and create products.

However, vocational training for rural laborers has yet to meet demand on industrialization and modernization.
Di An Vocational School principle Kieu Giac Ngo assessed that Di An town has gradually turned into an urban area, some farmers with low knowledge need jobs in conformity with present society. Our duty is to improve efficiency of vocational training, job generation and income improvement for rural laborers. Over the past two years, the school has recruited and trained jobs for 273 learners.
Apprenticeship to create jobs
Over the past 2 years, vocational training facilities across province have opened 110 vocational training classes for 2,843 laborers across localities. Rural laborers have mainly joined in classes on cultivation and care techniques of rubber and ornamental trees, hairdressing, computer repair, cooking and so on.

According to the steering board of the project, after the training classes, over 80% of learners enjoy stable jobs. In addition, some learners open workshops at their localities whilst others join in other advanced classes to improve their skills.
As such, launching the project of vocational training for rural laborers has gone into life and helped rural laborers improve their income.
