Enhancing rate of trained laborers
As of late June, 2013, the entire province have 55 workshops involving in vocational training, education, 5 of which are vocational colleges, 7 vocational immediate schools, 13 vocational centers and many more.
In the 2011-2012 school year, vocational training workshops trained more than 38,000 learners, 2,400 of whom were trained at college level, 3,800 at immediate level and 7,000 at primary one.
To mobilize businesses to join in vocational training work, Binh Duong province has issued a policy to support businesses joining in vocational training work and placing jobs for local laborers. Thenceforth, vocational training workshops have cooperated with businesses to take learners to businesses for probation as well as to improve learners’ skills.
Most of the vocational training schools have held role as a bridge to meet businesses’ demand on vocational training. Monthly, Binh Duong opens job fairs to facilitate learners’ job search.
More measures in need
Over the past years, the provincial work of vocational training has contributed remarkably to local goal of manpower development. However, the work remains obstacles and is in dire need of synchronous measures to reach over 70% of trained laborers by 2015.
Nguyen Phung Trung said that the work of vocational training has contributed greatly to local manpower development in a bid to cater for businesses’ labor demand. However, its quality and efficiency remain shortcomings. Trung explained, owing to shortage of career consultancy and orientation, the number of learners remains limited.
To win high results in the years to come, Binh Duong province will map out policies to encourage laborers to join in vocational training, especially laborers in rural areas.
In addition, Binh Duong will set out policies to attract students, artisans and laborers to become teachers of vocational training schools. More importantly, vocational training workshops must actively cooperate with businesses to specify training majors and quantity of laborers, to spur career consultancy for students as well as promulgate the Party and State’s policies on vocational training.
