The whole province has to date had 105 voluntary blood donation squads with 3,439 members and 105 standby squads on voluntary blood donation with 1,088 members; 356 propaganda squads on voluntary blood donation with 2,902 members. For high results, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation has always paid attention to the propaganda and mobilization work via many forms.
Before and after giving blood, donors will get care and consultancy about related matters. Provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation and its affiliates have also rewarded those who have participated in the voluntary blood donation campaign under the regulation of the National Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation.
In 2010, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation and its affiliates organized 52 stages of voluntary blood donation with 7,897 units of blood given or 115% of the set target. They also granted 7,893 certifications and 7,893 insignias for those who got involved in the voluntary blood donation campaign. Noticeably, province-based units, namely Dau Tieng Rubber Corp., Maico Co., Esquel Co., Perfetti Van Melle Co., Shang Hung Cheng Co., Song Be Golf Course,…gave more support to blood donors.
Huynh Van Nhi, vice-chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the above-mention results came from the efforts of the local administration, the HCM city-based Cho Ray Hospital’s Center for Blood Transfusion and Hematology and the local Red Cross Societies at all levels. First of all, this was drastic change in awareness and responsibility among people from all walks of life and mass organizations, especially voluntary blood donation members about the voluntary blood donation campaign.
Also according to Mr.Nhi, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation and its affiliates; sectors, mass organizations and units in the province need to strengthen education about the goal and meaning of the voluntary blood donation campaign, contributing to raising public awareness of the campaign for better results…
“Upholding its achievements done and effectively implementing its tasks, orientations for 2011, I believe that the province’s voluntary blood donation campaign will see strong growth, becoming one of the good traditions of Binh Duong’s people…”, added Mr.Nhi.
