Voluntary blood donation campaigns need those who have golden hearts

 

In 2010, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation has set the target of collecting 6,840 units of blood, up 380 units compared to 2009. Mrs.Luu Nguyet Suong, vice-chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society said: “We have increased the target of voluntary blood donation this year with the hope of having more and more patients saved”.

 

Beefing up dissemination work

 

Under the National Blood Transfusion Safety Program, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation has always paid attention to the dissemination and mobilization of the local people to actively donate their blood while giving more care to blood donors.

 

Provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation last year mobilized 6,873 units of blood, getting nearly 106% of the target. So far, the whole province has had 106 voluntary blood donation squads with 3,404 members, 106 reverse blood donation squads with 1,039 members and 178 propaganda squads with 1,693 members; regularly maintained 3 places for voluntary blood donation registration at provincial Red Cross Society, General Hospital and Women’s Union.

 

Needing those who have golden hearts

 

To achieve the set target, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation need those who have golden hearts. The steering board has also paid more attention to blood donors, aiming to honor their contributions. It last year honored 49 collectives and 298 individuals who have donated blood many times.

 

Tran Tan Phong, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tuong Binh Hiep commune in TDM town, who has donated blood 28 times said that he has donated my blood with a simple goal of bringing many people happiness and lives. For this, he has also mobilized my relatives and youths to voluntarily donate their blood…

 

Similarly, Nguyen Van Boi, who has donated blood many times in Phu My ward’s TDM town said that he has wanted to share his blood for poor patient. He has also actively mobilized his family and friends to voluntarily give their blood…
