The Steering Board of the Volunteer Youth Year of provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union, on February 15, held a ceremony to launch the Volunteer Youth Year 2014.
With the theme of “the Volunteer Youth Year and Improvement of the quality of Youth Union”, the Steering Board has set some main targets for volunteer activities during the year, including organizing at least 15 stages of providing medical check-up, medicine and gifts for residents living in the remote areas of the province, policy beneficiaries, lonely elderly people; building at least 2 benevolence houses; further launching a voluntary blood donation campaign with more than 450 units of blood to be collected… Accordingly, the Youth Union has mapped out main activities under the theme of each quarter: quarter I with the theme of “Towards nation’s sea and island areas-joining hands for the poor”; quarter II with the theme of “Young civil servants with volunteer activities-civilization at workplace-the beauty of Youth Union members”; quarter III with the theme of “Volunteer summer”.
After the launching ceremony, delegates together with Youth Union members visited and presented 200 gifts worth VND200,000 each to poor patients being treated at provincial General Hospital, provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital and provincial Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital.
On this occasion, the Steering Board of the Volunteer Youth Year of provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union was also introduced before in front of delegates.
