In order to lessen cost burden in the new school year as well as facilitate schooling of poor students, provincial Students’ Union collaborating with Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Joint Venture Ltd. Company conferred 45 scholarships from VSIP Charity Fund upon poor students.

At beginning of this new school year, first-year student Nguyen Ngoc Tran Uyen My of Political education faculty, HCM City Pedagogical University, is happy because of being admitted to the university, but simultaneously facing many worries. She has to worry about incoming expenses, such as tuition fee, books, accommodation, travelling expenses.

Management of VSIP Chairty Fund gave scholarships to poor students.

Her family includes 4 persons living at Thai Hoa ward in Tan Uyen town and lives on small incomes from agriculture crops. Her father has to work as security guard at a company for a monthly income of VND3mln. Due to overwork, her parents are suffering critical diseases. Apart from providing for two children, her parents take care of senile grandmother. Despite difficult circumstance, My has achieved high learning results.

Nguyen Trong Kien coming from Bu Dang district in Binh Phuoc province is a freshman of Social work faculty under Thu Dau Mot University. He has to cover himself all expenses, since his parents passed away. To pursue schooling, Kien has to work hard with many jobs to have money.

Kien chose to learn social work with the hope to bring happiness and smiles to other people. Kien said: “I have to live in difficult circumstances, so I sympathize with disadvantaged persons. Therefore, I want to learn social work to share happiness and sorrows with other people”.
